Whistlers Bend

Sixteen miles east of Roseburg Oregon is my favorite disc golf course, Whistlers Bend. It is a truly amazing mix of beauty and excellent course design. It's challenging and fun. If you haven't played it I highly recommend it!

There's nothing like teeing off from the top of the world and taking in the spectacular view. I emptied my bag from up there during every round the first few times I went. Whistlers is one of the best courses I've ever played especially scenery wise. Good times.

one of my favorite courses as well! Hole 7 is one of my favorite holes around.

i'm going to be in southern oregon for 5 weeks this summer. i guarantee you i will play this course more than once

I'm driving up to Portland tomorrow, on I-5, and I would love to stop here and play a round. Anybody know how long it takes to play a full round at this course?

Depending on speed of play around 2 1/2 hrs (It takes a bit just to play the huge uphill hole that leads to the top of the world and then climb to the top) Just FYI there are two teepads for the top of the world hole. The short position has a drop off at the end of the pad while the longer position is much higher up the hill and has a better teeing surface area.

OK, so its ~6 hours driving from Sacramento...have to leave home by 11AM to get a round in before dark. Not too bad. In case I miss it, I also have to drive back a week later, which may be even better for timing.

I suggest you not slide down the hill from the top of the world (using your discs as sliders).
They mow the PO (and grass) so tight that the PO isn't obvious, but it's there.
Thank goodness for hydrocortisone.
Excellent course and camping though.

Haven't played Whistler's Bend yet. My favorite Oregon course is still Pier Park.

I did manage to play the course on my afore-mentioned road trip. It was very fun, and the location is very nice. The only downside was that it was not as challenging as the courses I'm used to playing. But still fun to go out and throw lots of birdies!

I just took a camping trip down there about a month and a half ago and the locals had put in some new longer pin positions that made the course play harder. There are a lot of birdies though, I shot a 46 on my first round first day. Some of our locals like Andrew Rich, Nate Sexton, Lane Mason etc REALLY shred that course though. It was my first time camping so I had the privilege of emptying my bag from the top of the world 2 times in a row after a few cold ones and a puff break. So much fun..2 days in a row of two rounds a day or more with extra treks up top of the world for bag emptying makes ya tired though. BTW Comet throws off of top of the world are absolutely epic.
