Good looking dyes dave.
I'm not very artistic either but one thing that worked for me was some of those vinyl letters from hobby stores. I bought a variety pack and made some pretty funny stuff. The only problem is then the letters are the color of the disc and the background is dyed.

looks like those ions hold the dye very well. Nice job on the discs they look good to me if you would not have mentioned the stars I would never have noticed.

Just drew this out to try curves and letters. Gonna clean up the letters, cut, and dip in the morning.

It's also my first attempt at mostly freehand. The tip of the arrow and guide lines are the only places I used a ruler. I may go back and redo the letter with actual measurements.

Some dye got under the vinyl when I dipped it on accident. It looks cool. I wish I could get that look all around the edge. Oh well. On to the next one.

Here's one I just sketched on a mailing box. It has lots of curves and letters, so it should be a good challenge.

It may be a week or two for that one. I want some more practice first.
The meet thing about that doodle was that it turned out the perfect size for a disc. My wife looked at me like she was asking herself why she married me when she looked at it.

Lookin good man. The only way to find the mistakes and fix em is to make em in the first place.
Congrats on quick progress!
I was gonna post "Stay away from letters and fonts for a while.. They suck" but I never got around to it.
