Opinions on plotter

us cutter is nice. they have a nice forum with a bunch of old ladies willing the help any chance they get. and their customer service is pretty good too. any plotter will work, what you should be concerned with is the program that you'll be using to operate it.... i like flexi.. for me it's beginner friendly but also has all of the photoshop tools i've come to love. flexi can range from $99-$3000 starter-pro..ebay is littered with it.

what ever floats your boat, as long as it an eps. or ai. file.
you cannot just upload a jpeg and cut it out. there is a process.

Inkscape sounds like what you are looking for.

inkscape is free, yes, and good for some things.. if you only plan on making cutouts for discs..go nuts with inkscape, if you want to use your plotter for actual singage go with flexi.

I use inkscape for 99% of my .eps conversions. Corel works sometimes. But I do have a copy of cs4 coming from a buddy soon
