Watching hornets nest again,

Its actually hilarious and one of my favorites now. Barry has the "round of his life" and MJ had just switched to new putters and was putting very bad (for him). The course is still beautiful, and the video is good quality... the players all just sucked lol.

So I just figured I'd go and check the Clash website, and to my surprise, they're reissueing the first Clash, RENNY GOLD!!! Remastered and with a new commentary. Pretty sweet news because you couldn't find that DVD anywhere.

Not to harp on the Clash or Billy, but there is way better footage out there that people are shooting, for instance most anything out of Europe is so above what we do in terms of editing etc.
My favorite vids are the ones that are posted for FREE on youtube under discgolfmonthly.

The US is catching up but lcgm8 has given tips to some guys over there. Cooldaddyslickbreeze makes good videos over there and like you said Disc golf Monthly too. I'm sure if Clash series updated to BluRays and cameras are HD they too would have better image quality. IMO it is time to ditch the DVD as the primary means of distribution because the discs are more visible in Bluray and the vids are so much prettier in HD.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

You know, I didn't like it. The footage was good, not sloppy or anything, and the comentary was good too, had the course designer on hand with Billy. But the course was just brutal! Everyone had a tough time, especially Nate Doss who had never been there before. I guess there is less "holy crap, I can't believe he did that" shots, than in other Clash DVDs.

It was nice to have the course designer on the commentary, he kind of explained the holes and what he was trying to achieve. Some of the greens are really cool, the designer explained he was trying to replicate the difficulty of ball golf greens, putting more strategy in play. Don't get me wrong, if you have the cash to spare then buy it, but it didn't live up to the hype to me.

It was also cool to see Schweberger and Timmy Gill play, 2 golfers I've heard about but not seen play.
I'd put it tied with Hornet's Nest, maybe a little better.

Well...I have watched the 3 disc set from the Minnesota Majestic. Overall rating...meh. I think it could have been made into one dvd. The video footage is a bit blah when following the disc. The camera man gets lost every once in a while. Also, in the third disc, there is this camera man who is not part of the clash team who is walking all over the course and standing by baskets. The most ridiculous one is the last hole of the tourney. Barry even talks to the guy and at one point you can hear Billy say something to him. Overall, I don't think it is worth the money. It should be should be sold as $5 per disc, then I would feel like it was ok. Overall...save your money.

i'm interested in hearing nate's commentary. he usually does a great job presenting himself in a professional manner on camera.
