WARNING!!!!

I got a tourny-stamped Mako this weekend. It is horrendously domey, a big ole poppy-top UFO dome on TOP of a regular big dome.

Heads up to Mako lovers... stock up, because the fresh (3rd?) run of *Mako is *Sucko

I have a few stamped ones and on is a bit more domey; it still flies like my other Makos. It is currently in my bag along with my $$ 180g FR. I will test them side by side.
I still have 6 unused FRs so I am good.

Played a round this evening in pretty good wind. Typical for my home course.
I only used my new club stamped blue 180 in my current "Mako slot". I put my well used FR orange 180 in the backup slot.
I found no real significant difference in the two. The blue Mako is a bit more domey but flew just as straight as my FR.
I am yet to throw a "production stamped" version with the flight ratings on it but the ones I have looked at look the same as the rest of the Makos.

My production one I purchased in January flies exactly like the one I picked up with an Ice Bowl stamp on it. That makes them interchangeable and I feel more relaxed leaving one in my big bag and one in my small bag, knowing I got that part of my game covered (as I play differently with the big bag, depending more on the discs, than I do with the small bag where I depend more on working on getting the limited discs I have into unique lines).

On a side note, got my first Mako ace today. Central Park (Brooklyn Park, MN) #6. Short 260 max but the tiny bit of elevation bump right at the hole (shooting over a skating rink where years of scraping as built up a small hump of a bank. The wind carried it perfectly to the basket but then attempted to bounce it out. Thankfully it stuck. When throw with the mildest of hyzers, the Mako has the sweetest looking glide.

hmm on second glance, this probably won't bother anyone... i mean, it's only like 5x as domey. no camera tricks... the new run looks THAT BAD. dome like a Kite/Skeeter

Are you sure the photo angle didn't enhance the dome on the one on the right? Just asking.
If not then I have not seen these 3rd runs. I have 6 FR and 3 of these club stamped ones. I should be good for a while.
Had the Blue 180 Club stamp out again today definitely works like my FR 180 orange.

parallax can do some funny things, but there's no way it's accounting for all of what we're seeing (though clearly there is some involved as having the discs different distances away from the camera makes it worse...having them side by side and splicing the picture would give a more accurate image, but I'm not complaining)

I think that may be the largest variation of dome and no dome I've ever seen on two discs of the same mold

I loved the flight of the Mako but the 2nd run I was throwing felt to soft/flexy in the hand. I prefer stiff midranges(dx roc guy ). It was a lot different from the 1st run I felt later. I read something on the pdga boards about them doing champ makos for CFR, so I will probably look into that as long as it doesnt have that mega-dome

Maybe, or it could be the opposite. Either way, I can say one thing for sure: That new Mako is going to be slower than a Buzzz, while the FR was faster than a Buzzz...I'm thinking a 1-2 point difference. Its going to SUCK in any wind as well.

I haven't noticed any. Briefly looked through the other day and we've got 2nd and 3rd runs as regulars, and still some 1st runs

I gotta stock up... on a disc that isn't even in my bag
