ok so im doing some discs for a fellow dgr'rrr and i did a batch for him not too long ago and did all millenium stuff. well this new batch came in and its basically the same stuff with 2 new additions, mf sentinel,and a aurora ms. well i dyed the backgrounds of them from white to a gold and had no problems. after laying the lion stencil on them i dipped em and let em sit for a short bit because it was pro plastic im assuming. anywho,i go to pull the vinyl off of the aurora and this shit happens!



i have no idea what is goin on ,its like a thin layer of plastic that was coming off, i dunno if it was the heat and the vinyl contributing to it or what but this shit peeled off like nothing. basically a top layer of plastic. i tried being easy with it and then the vinyl wouldnt come off. then when i pulled the vinyl off it just bubbled up and looked horrendous . same thing happend with the mf sentinel just not as bad but still ruined 2 discs.

is it the base plastic? anybody have this happen before?

i did a couple of pro plastic olfs before and i didnt have that problem. im at a loss for words

some old pro plastics will peel off in layers. i see used discs that are all peeled to shit at the grip points (pro cobra seems to have been run at the peak of peel time). i've also peeled a brand spankin new disc (it was a pro MS).

any Pro Sentinel was run several years ago, even at the warehouse 2 years ago those things were half-disintegrated. by warehouse i mean non-climate-controlled barn in wimberley ... shit was falling to pieces

thats what i figured but wasnt fo sho. atleast you cleared it up. sucks ballz though since his discs are screwed now.

yea the ms already had some peely shit on it from me just removing the stamp.i figured it would do anything and well damned if it didnt.

Happened to me with a Super Roc I tried to dye a couple of years ago

I had a superroc I wanted to dye. But I ruined it just by trying to get the damn stamp off.
It's the only Innova disc that I couldn't get the stamp off to try to dye. I used so much acetone that it started peeling away the top layer.
So in turn I never dyed it.
Hope you get an answer cuz I'd like to know

It's called cheesing. I had a teacher in high school that worked in the plastic and rubber industry and told me that when plastic it rubber sits and starts disentagrating and peeling its actually cheesing.

That's what I thought! It just looked like it didn't take the dye as well in shades and got lighter and weirder.
