Gotta Play Kaposia – PDGA B-Tier Disc Golf Event & Vibram Open Qualifier

Gotta Go Gotta Throw is hosting the Gotta Play Kaposia Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 15th , 2010 starting at 9:00 am.

The tournament is a PDGA B-Tier event with fifteen divisions for players to compete, making this a competitive disc golf tournament for all ages which will be well attended by Minnesota’s best disc golf players. The purse has $500 of added cash for payouts and Amateur player packs (custom disc, mini marker & towel.) There will also be additional prizes for the players.

This is the only Vibram Open Qualifier in Minnesota.

Vibram Disc Golf is sponsoring the event as a qualifier for the Vibram Open this August. Last year the Vibram Open was the 3rd Richest Event in 2009, with a purse over $44,000 dollars! The top 2 Pro players competing in the Gotta Play Kaposia tournament will have the chance to compete in the Vibram Open! do we need to have season passes paid for to kaposia in order to play? or do the tourney fees include playing for the day?

Only two days left until Gotta Play Kaposia! The field will be capped at 110 and we are expecting it to fill up by the end of the day tomorrow so if you have friends on the fence – give ‘em a shove! Two rounds of 22 holes and the payouts have been increased!

To increase the actual payouts, Gotta Go Gotta Throw will be donating the players packs at no cost to the event. This means there will be NO deduction in the payout pool for the packs so the payouts will be increased. As such – while the field will be capped at 110, only the first 100 registered players will receive players packs.

Sign in on Saturday until 8:30 (we’ll be out there right around 7:00 a.m.) with a shot gun start promptly at 9:00 a.m. special tournament merch will be available for sale the whole day. Also - don’t forget the putting clinics on Sunday if you are not playing Highland. Steve Dodge of Vibram has graciously agreed to a 2ND PUTTING CLINIC to be held around noon on Sunday the 16th in conjunction with the 30th Annual Moir Mystery Madness at Moir Park!

The first clinic will be at Gotta Go Gotta Throw from 10:00 - 11:30ish and then c'mon out to Moir and be a part of or witness the oldest, longest–running, alternative format disc golf tournament in the world!

Be the first to hear about the new, exciting discs Vibram has in the works (including drivers!) and enter your name in a drawing to be selected as a Vibram Tester! Five people will be chosen to receive a new production test disc (a new material blend that no one is aware of yet!) AND become part of the Vibram Tester Team. As a tester you will receive new discs as they are produced to test and provide your feedback.

We have closed the on-line registration for the Gotta Play Kaposia event. However, if there is anyone that still wants to register please have them contact me via phone or email as we may be able to fit a few more in. A couple of people from out of town have registered but notified me they may not be able to show up and will let me know by the end of the day on Friday.

some random people screaming and hollering at each other and fighting in the parking lot. possibly baby mama drama i do not know. as well as people complaining about the course being closed due to the tournament driving down the long road and blasting their horns because they are pissed off, but the thing is they blasted it in a persistent way therefore does not really do much for the outcomes of anyones' shots since it is a long consistent noise rather than random beeps every few seconds.

Thanks to all who came out to play (and those who brought us lunch - that was out of the park appreciated!)

The event was a whole lot of fun and virtually hitch free - dramas noted above would be the exceptions - but then again, it was cheap entertainment
