Postby Parks » Sun May 30, 2010 5:15 pm

Christian just got his first NT win at the Beaver State Fling, and here is a video from the PDGA page with some nice highlights.

This is a really cool video! The soundtrack is perfect and I love the editing and camera work. It's a nice little production.

The best part of the video is the broad as his caddy that's remarkable.

I'm guessing this is the video that's mostly/all slow motion stuff? Watched it yesterday, it's beautiful. I think it's all the little stuff floating in the air that does it for me, looks similar to movies like Hero, House of Flying Daggers and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Great advertisement for the sport.

ya, lots of beautiful slo-mo and tufts of cottonwood floating around. good stuff. there are some really nice angles for technique analysis too. e.g. check out how the disc flings around the lock point between #2 and #3, with relatively little wrist movement:

You can also see in the last picture the increased nose down from the disc pivot.

Following the disc that well in flight is really difficult. It helps a lot to have the disc flying at you and the less it fades the easier it is to track it as long as it doesn't fly past you.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

that slow mo action makes his form look buttery. but yes he does exemplify good clean form. nice vid too.
