Best course in each state

Just curious of the best course in each state. I am doing a wide sweeping trip of the west and was looking to play the best courses possible.

Leadville is my favorite permanent CO course. I have yet to play connifer, which from what I have been hearing is most the denver guys new favorite. I also have not been to the colorado springs area courses yet, I have spent too much time in NOCO.

I can only vouch for Maine (and soon Europe). These are three pemiere courses, imo.

Here's what I do...If you have a laptop, just take it with you and consult dgcoursereview.com where ever you travel (use the "Browse Map" option, it is very nifty). Don't take the ratings too seriously (indeed, tastes vary incredibly among DGers on which courses we all prefer), though maybe avoid anything less than 3 average rating.

In Montana there's a few, if you're in the Billings area I hear Diamond X is quite the course, I'm still waiting to find someone that knows the course to play with. But having to climb up some small cliffs and throwing on top of bluffs sounds pretty awesome. In the bozeman area Bohart is most likely the best, moderatley wooded and laid out along the X-country ski trails.

Quoted for Truth. These are definitely the three to hit in Maine. There are plenty of other "honorable mentions" though. Woodland Valley is about to start work on its 3rd course (no reused tee's or baskets) as well. Quite the dgolf center.

Not having played all of the course here in MN yet (but all the metro ones), my vote would go for Blue Ribbon Pines.

Sorry, Giants Ridge is the best in the state. Blue Ribbon is a close second though.

I have also heard this, I think they may have 2 courses now? or at least two sets of tees?
I am pretty sure it still stands, but hole 18 has the longest recoded ace. 800'+ with a "few" hundred feet elevation drop.

If i have to choose one fir MI it would be Flip City.

In Louisiana, I'd have to say in the southern part of the state, Flanacher in Zachary is one of the top ones. It's pretty new and in a really nice park. Zachary is about 20 minutes north of Baton Rouge. It's got some sweet tee pads, and the fairways get trimmed pretty often by the city. I haven't really played much of anything in North Louisiana, but a lot of people in the Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans area seem to think Flanacher is one of the best places to play.

Definitely an awesome course. I got owned the Z-Town throw down a month or 2 ago. As for the north part of the state, Lake Bistineu is EXTRMEMELY long (from the pro tees), technical, and heavily wooded. Lazarre in Monroe (my home course) features 2 courses, one fairly easy and one which is pretty tough.

Beaver Ranch (Connifer) *might* be the best in the state but as far as the best course in the Denver Metro it's gotta be Badlands.

I'm not sure what the consensus for NC is but it is between Hornet's Nest and Renaissance Park (Renny). Honestly I vote Hornets Nest. sure Renny Gold is long (and I mean long) but I don't think it has the fun factor that Hornet's Nest has. but I think it will be the undying debate in NC.

SC I can't really speak for but it is the home of Winthrop Gold and that may win by default.

VA I don't know where to begin.
