Amateur cash in side events

Postby Iman522 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 8:32 pm

I searched and couldn't find anything so link it up for me if you can but I have kind of a random question. If you are an Amateur playing in a sanctioned tournament and you win either a long drive competition, ace pot, or some other random event how does the whole am's accepting cash rule work? Can you accept it or does PDGA rules make you accept Plastic instead?

An amateur can receive cash in any kind of side event (basically, anything that isn't actually a PDGA rated round) and retain their amateur status. So, all the things you mentioned being paid out in cash would be fine. (And, I have seen most types of side events paid out in cash at some point or antoher)

Wow, your ace pools don't even pay out in cash? That would suck.

Ok Awesome. Ace Pots hand out cash round here and we had a long drive contest that wasn't at a PDGA event that had cash but most the time it seems like long drive, CTP etc. are just plastic or t-shirts.

Man...a piece of pie should would have been better than the two T-shirts that were 3 sizes to big from my last Ring of Fire.
