Itchy's Ink

Postby Itchy » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:01 pm

My second dye, just a simple silhouette of Ryu (or Ken) throwing a hadouken from Street Fighter. Found this I-Dye Monarch at Big 5 and couldn't resist.

Did you just dye the black? or also add the purple and pink?

either way, great use of the factory fly died
not a fan of these as they use up most of the "Ice" discs that could be dyed a hell of a lot more creatively by us "Professionals"

I only added the black silhouette... the yellow, pink and purple were already there.

Third dye. Da-nu-nu-nu-na-na-na-naaaah, BATMAN! The N ran at the bottom because I cut too far but it's not too bad. Looks cool in the air too, like a Bat-a-rang almost. Quest AT Inferno.

Four and five knocked out tonight. Both ran into hotstamp problems.

Bender with a James Bond style silhouette to go with the hotstamp. That stamp is about a quarter of an inch deep, no joke, so I couldn't erase and replace it... had to work with it.

Calvin and Hobbes downhilling in a red wagon. This hotstamp was another headache and wouldn't come completely off the disc.

Most discraft and gateway stamps bite ass. Good work!

Thanks Dave. I really like the new hotstamp you put up over in the disc family picture thread.

Six. Mostly painless.

Thanks. Originally I wanted to take off the hotstamp and put a bigger picture of Bender on there with a ray gun that said, "Kill all humans!" but then the stamp wouldn't come off...

I know I threatened to put Mark Ellis' face on my replacement purple Cyclone, but I changed my mind.

I finally got all of a Discraft hotstamp off. It was the first one that wasn't black ink and I think that helped it a lot. The stamp was super deep though, which lead to some bleeds, but it's not too bad. I also found a no name x-out champ Teebird that my Pops was throwing and liking, so I'm going to dye Barney Fife on it some time this year.

Forgot to mention, I did this one different. I didn't hot dip, I used rubbing alcohol and liquid Rit. It more of darkened the purple, rather than put a black stamp on it. It was less clean up too.
