That's the only pro guy I know of that does it (I don't know many pro guys). My buddy tries it sometimes when were bowling and the can definitely put some mega spin on it like that...

I bowled competitively as a kid, but only make it to the alley a few times a year anymore. 12year old me would clean the floor with 24 year old me (12 year old me average 144, 24 year old me average ~130)

i finally looked at this topic....and it turns out i bowl this way when i try to do the good old curve shot.......i thought it was normal
