Why the hostility and angry repeated quoting VR? I was just commenting on how i interpreted what i read, im sorry if someone read what i wrote, sought you out, then shit in your whole grain cereal because of something i said. Im not saying i interpreted it correctly or how it was intended, just how at a first glance without over thinking it. I can appreciate someone who is a no grey area type of guy with stuff like this, but you sounded really really angry there man. May God or whoever have mercy on the poor soul that foot faults in front of you, and hopefully you dont have your stool handy because i dont think prison is ready for that type of rage .

Y'all are quoting PGA rule as pertains to shots played on the putting surface (green), but ignoring the fact that the PDGA rule pertains to all kinds of shots; including off the tee. Just FYI...

If the PDGA rule stated the mode of entry would be disallowed inside 10m, it'd be apples and apples...

IMO a "bad" shot that got a lucky breeze that helped the disc into the basket should count just as much as a "good" shot that got an unlucky breeze that pushed it into the side of the basket where it stuck. Maybe that should be just from outside the 10 M circle. Short puts can't stick in the side. That way you can ace into the side, as long as you pull it out before it pops out.

Yea, Thats still good. There is a good pic with descriptions of holed out and not holed out discs on the pdga site.

The pic has in and out discs, so read the description to find out what is what. Talking to some local guys, I think some people just assume everything in the pic does not count.

Nope. Falling through the top was only disallowed in the most recent (2011) rules update, and only then if observed by two or more players in a group or an official. Until then, a disc entering the top of the target & ending up in the bucket or chains was good, regardless of whether anybody saw it or not. The new rule is a HUGE step backward IMHO, adding another level of ambiguous subjectivity to an already hopelessly ambiguous & subjective set of laws.

As an aside, with that model of basket, the disc having entered through the top is extremely unlikely, if not impossible. I posit that it entered in the conventional manner & became entangled in the chains before making it all the way down to the bucket. Good.

when I first started playing in 1997 it was well known that anything falling through the top was no good... But going through the basket/sticking in the basket, was, of course, ok. I don't know if they changed this at some point to make it ok to fall through the top, but I don't recall that happening.

gotta say the rule change regarding moving dead and unattached twigs, pine cones, etc. that extend through your lie, should have been done YEARS ago. Unbelievably stupid rule not being able to move an obstruction that provides safe footing. Moved a ton of crap yesterday at FDR Fool's Fest from various lies and NOT ONCE did doing so provide any additional benefit to me OTHER than a physically safe stance.
