well I bought the reissue Renny Gold and BRP. I liked them both but I have some issues.

Renny Gold
good:
it's Renny Gold. I've played it twice and it IS that tough of a course (I know exactly how Doss felt).
I was able to turn the commentary to the original which was a bit more pleasurable. the course designer also had really interesting things to say.

bad:
the color was weird in the scenes they were able to "remaster". everything seemed too red and washed out. I guess it was a product of the digitization or whatever. maybe JR can explain

overall: a good watch for me since I've played the course.

BRP
Good:
where to begin. the course is awesome. Timmy Gill is a great commentator and a very polite man. the play was great; the "old guys" can still shoot the lights out. the picture quality was good but with a huge caveat (read below).

Bad:
I think it was filmed in 16x9 but not in an HD resolution. I had to use the "zoom" setting on my HDTV to get the picture to fill the frame. otherwise it was a 1/2 size box in the middle of the screen. I know they are putting a lot of hard work into making these but that just made it feel bush league. I didn't lose much of the picture in zoom mode but it was still irksome.

overall: I think it is the best of the series with RG a close second. so far...

It is best shot. I am watching it right now. I will post after I finish it. I will tell you this...on the first hole I am having flashbacks of Cliff Stephens with the windy mic.
If the object of disc golf were to hit trees, I'd be 1100 rated.

Ok, I just booted it up on my PS3, you're right, there's approx. 4 inch frame around the video. My bad.

It would be super if Billy made the switch to HD.

First off, Double G is a freak. He mashes some bombs in this one. The overall of the video was just kind of meh. Putting this one into my previous rankings for the Clash dvd's it would be like this(Adjusting after watching HN a couple more times as well):

1. BRP
2. Renny Gold
3. Vallarta
4. Hornets Nest
5. Cliff Stephens
6. Pine Oaks
7. Winthrop
8. Red Hawk
If the object of disc golf were to hit trees, I'd be 1100 rated.

for real? is it as bad as cliff stephens? microphones clipping because of the wind is unprofessional. i know it cost more time and money and takes away from the live feel but just redo the commentary indoors.

My final verdict on it is that it ranks just above Red Hawk. I wasn't a huge fan. The only thing that salvages this one is Double G throwing down some huge bombs.

I just order the Blue Ribbon Pines. Looking forward to watching it...I'm from Minnesota and it's one of the few premium courses I have not played when visiting my family. I'm planning to play it this summer with some old friends...really looking forward to the trip.
