A. Mini marker discs shall be used to mark a player's lie as
required by these rules. Mini marker discs must have a diameter of between 7
and 15 centimeters and a height not exceeding 3 centimeters.
I'm preparing to register for my first tournament, and I am having jitters over marking my lie, since I am in the habit of flipping my disc to use as a marker (which isn't allowed) or using my bag as a marker (also not allowed), and in that event picking up the disc first and putting it in the bag (further not allowed). I am trying to retrain myself, but it's hard.
Meanwhile, I am wondering what happens if I lose my mini marker along the way. AM I stuck using my disc as the marker, without moving it (which is allowed), or can I use anything that fits the dimensions as a mini marker disc, such as a coin or poker chip? I figure I can throw a few pennies in my bag for peace of mind, since they are not good for anything else.
