For me, I'd say I notice no real difference between my 175 Opto and my 176 GL.

I have not seen a difference in stability in either one; they both fight head wind exceptionally well (20-30 mph)-they're practically identical in that comparison. Depending on your shot selection they'll fly low and straight w/the dependable fade, or a nice long hyzer shot, or my favorite, the flex shot-it's beautiful to watch it glide and slowly flex out as it continues to move forward. I've played 2 rounds at leagues with it and plus another 81 rounds of casual play, not including me practicing situational shots. My problem is deciding which one stays in the bag. If you still want pics of the rim, let me know. I'll can get shots of the opto one; my teal gl is sent away to get dye...it'll come back with the wolverine (comic book hero) on it probably next week sometime

Yeah, pics would be more than welcome.

Since the one pic of the rim I found in the net, was really blurry. So couldnt really make out much from of it.
I wonder which plastic would be better then, if they have the same stability? I´ve never tried any of the Lat64 plastics.

Very nice pics, thanks a bunch!
I hate to say this, but if you could just get one more pic. Try holding the disc vertical (flat), so we could see the rim shape better.

Also is the inner wall of the rim a bit slanted, or am I imagining?

Yes, the inner rim is a little slanted. It helps the clean release; it feels great in the hands.

Thats look mildly similar to a Roc, I might have to check this disc out since it is hard to get my hands on a Champ Roc. Thanks for the hookup on the pix man.

Yeah, great pics! And the final one really gives a good idea of the rim.
Too bad about the slanted rim tho, I so dont enjoy those, but thats just me...
Atleast I have to test one out before buying. Who knows, maybe I´ll end up liking it.

I'm sure there is slant, but I don't really notice or see it much more than on my other mid ranges.

I recieved 6 more Pains in the mail today. 3 178 Optos and 3 178 Gold Lines. The first thing I did was run out to the school yard and give'em a toss. I noticed that the 3 GL were substantially more stable than the 3 Optos. So I drove home and got my two older Opto Pains that are in my bag so I could compare them to the new ones to make sure. The same results, all of the GLs are much more stable than the Optos. Has anyone esle found this to be true? Generally I have found the opposite to be true, that Opto plastic is more stable than GL. The Pain seems to be an acception, atleast for me.
I checked the PLH and they are the same as far I can tell with the naked eye.

My 174 Opto Pain came in today. Suffice it to say, if you're looking for a Roc in pretty premium plastic without paying premium Roc prices, this disc is for you. No bead though, if you're in love with beads. I didn't notice the slanted inner rim either but I throw Fuses a lot so...

I have a 175g San Marino Roc that is butter soft and pulls on my finger just at release. My Opto 176g Pain requires a pinch grip or it will slip out and release early. I like each dis, but they kinda have different uses. For one thing, I can pound the Pain for distance and get exactly what I desire, the Roc, not so much.
