If throwing with less power is an issue maybe a River and a Flow would help with their lower power requirement than other discs in their category. But you need to find the good ones and i think you have better chances with Opto than GL.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

that's basically why I'm throwing OLFs and TDs for distance, and I'm avoiding wide rim low power discs. Consistency has to be the key in my game now. I am changing from depending on 400-425' drives with destroyers to 350-375' drives with the OLFs. Not sure there is much of a difference in power requirement in the OLF and River, but I'd think the OLF is more versatile (the main reason why I chose it over the River and PD)

OLF needs more power for the same D as some Flows. River is more like a slower fairway driver that grew wings and paraglides while flapping the wings. Meaning it ain't gonna come down any time soon just like Fuse. The difference between the TD and the River and Flow is fairly small. It's somewhere in between those if you pick the proper ones. Flippy GL Flows need very little power and flip easily. Straight Optos are surprisingly beefy and straight while long. Opto Flows that are straight are great for consistency and good for control. Even though the fade is lesser than with OLFs it glides so well that if you give it a little hyzer you're set because that achieves the same thing than the harder fade of the OLF.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

I think this comment answers a lot as to why I went with the OLF and TD as my distance compliments

Going to give the eagle-x another try, as it may do just what I want and close the distance gap between cyclones and OLFs.

current setup, audition discs in purple

distance
175 1.2 QOLF
171 1.1 MOLF
167 1.1 SOLF
175 S Rush

Control
175 Champion Banshee new - used to throw these guys a lot, trying it out again since I'm a puny arm  won't hesitate to return to them from preds
175 Star Eagle-X (x2) new - ditto, but trying again because of the distance gap between Orions and Cyclones I was having issues with

Midrange
180 Z Comet new
175 Z Comet beat - silky johnston
179 X Comet new
177 X Comet Beat - go slow turn right
177 Z Hornet - very windy midrange, drone or something that overstable is pretty useless in this slot to me

Putters
171 Yeti - all putting duties!
176 Firm (?) Summit

bag setup for (not-so)Winter Bash this weekend, warmup for the B-Tier in Columbia next weekend:

distance
175 1.2 QOLF long hyzers, distance in wind
171 1.1 MOLF main distance driver.

Control
175 Champion Banshee new - forgot how much I love this disc. not seeing much of a distance difference between this and a Pred now.
175 Star Eagle-X (x2) new - filling the gap between midranges and distance drivers better than cyclones did.
172 DX Eagle-L new, trying them out as a turnover fairway since I lost my Rush.

Midrange
180 Z Comet new
175 Z Comet beat - silky johnston
179 X Comet new
177 X Comet Beat - go slow turn right
177 Z Hornet - midrange for wind conditions and hyzer approaches.

Putters
171 Yeti - all putting duties!
175 Yeti - hyzer approaches, putter drives if I actually choose to toss a putter off the tee, doesn't happen much nowadays.
176 Firm (?) Summit

So...sorry I missed the memo...but why are you not throwing hard anymore? Also, what made you take the TD out of your bag?

hurt my back at the end of last November. throwing hard for distance (425-450' on distance lines) was the chronic cause of the injury.

I didn't take the Rush out, I lost my only one  had an eagle-L in my box so I'm just going to try it out for a bit. I can always replace the Rush if I feel the need to.

A very nice golfer returned my lost S-Rush to me yesterday during the winter bash :) Which is awesome because I really needed it on a few holes, the EL isn't beat in enough to turnover consistently yet. The rest of the bag feels pretty natural to me since it's almost all molds I have spent a lot of time with in the past - even though it's been a couple of years. Now to focus on the mental aspect of the game and get ready for the B-Tier in town next week.

distance
175 1.2 QOLF long hyzers, distance in wind
171 1.1 MOLF main distance driver.
175 S Rush distance turnovers and big tailwind driver

Control
175 Champion Banshee new - forgot how much I love this disc. not seeing much of a distance difference between this and a Pred now.
175 Star Eagle-X new - filling the gap between midranges and distance drivers better than cyclones did.
172 DX Eagle-L new - the 'straight' eagle. not a lot of fade to it even when new.

Back to the Challenger. Rest of the bag is working out really well.

Midrange
180 Z Comet new
175 Z Comet beat - silky johnston
179 X Comet new
177 X Comet Beat - go slow turn right
177 Z Hornet - midrange for wind conditions and hyzer approaches.

Putters
172 D Challenger - worn, main putter
172 D Challenger - worn, backup putter
174 CryZtal Challenger - approaches
176 Firm (?) Summit

Small tweaks to the setup, back to using the Fade Crunch for now. TDs are working better for me as a non-headwind distance driver at this time.

Distance
175 C-TD, new
175 S-TD, worn
172 QOLF 1.2, newish

Control/Fairway
175 Champ Banshee - still a fantastic headwind disc
175 Star Eagle-X, newish
170 Star Eagle-X, worn

Midrange
175 Z Comet, new (domey!)
174 Z Comet, worn flies like a new X comet
177 X Comet, beat
180 SG MD1, new

Putters
174 Cryztal Challenger
173 D Challenger
173 D Challenger
176 Firm Vibram Summit

Sooooooooo....the banshee is fantastic for me - when there isn't a lot of strong wind. Apparently I still have enough power to turn them from a hyzer into a stiff (15-20mph) headwind. Back to Predators, and the big bag! Trying out a couple of discs.

Distance
172 Goldline Flow - Auditioning for Max D
175 QOLF 1.2 - Controlled D
171 MOLF 1.1 - Max D
175 S-TD - Turnover drives
175 C-TD - turnovers/straight

Control
175 Star Eagle-X, newish
170 Star Eagle-X, worn
172 Z Predator, newish
173 Z Predator, beat

Midrange
176 Opto Pain, new
175 Z Comet, new
174 Z Comet, worn
177 X Comet, beat

Putt/Approach
174 Cryztal Challenger
173 D Challenger
173 D Challenger
176 Firm Vibram Summit - it's like a comet without the glide.
175 Medium Ion - trying this one out for all approaches, mainly for the spot the Summit is in.

Didn't like the Ion (for what I wanted to use it for at least) or the Flow. bag pretty much the same as listed above.
