MMA Fighter/Disc Golfer

Postby disc junkie » Sat Apr 09, 2011 10:46 pm

I thought this was pretty cool when I found this out earlier today and I think other mma/dg fans will think the same.

Ben Askren who is the Bellator Welterweight Champion is also a sponsored player by Discraft. Ive been watching Askren even before he was an MMA fighter back when he was just a westler and thought it was cool to find out he is a golfer as well.
When I'm not itchin for discin, I have the yearnin to get the plastic turnin

I saw the article in the recent pDGA rag and thought the same thing, pretty cool.

He's still just a wrestler, more or less. But he's a damn good one and good wrestling trumps all in US MMA.
Some discs of various sizes, weight, plastic and mold.

If they can out run him they should be okay.

I actually had the privilege to play a couple of rounds with him a couple of years ago at the DSM Challenge. Pretty nice guy. And his girlfriend(now wife I do believe) is nice too.
If the object of disc golf were to hit trees, I'd be 1100 rated.
