2011 USADGC ??

I cannot find any discussion online about this years AM Nationals, and there is absolutely no mention of it on the PDGA website (other than the schedule). Am I missing something? Last year there was some discussion on the PDGA forum, and there were news flashes on the PDGA home page about the event for about 3 weeks leading up to it. Am I missing something? Is this event not high enough profile? I mean, it is still a Major, and they aren't even advertising it. I just think it's strange.

Well, the Toboggan course is in and the field will be completely full this year.

The big issue, not yet resolved, is the new requirement that anyone competing in a Major must pass the PDGA Certified Officials test. Evidently less than half of those prereged have done so. No hurry, I guess, the event starts in a week.

I guess the lack of hype from the PDGA is what struck me as strange.

We've only got 3 Canadians coming this year, 2 newcomers and 1 repeat player (me) and we're all really excited .. can't wait! See ya Thursday for Lizard Games!!!

There will be a pre-event video going up on the PDGA site on Monday (via Youtube) featuring on and off-course action from some previous years. This will be followed by a piece next Saturday featuring early round 2011 action, and the final piece in the series will be posted following final round play on Sunday.

Looking forward to the 3rd video, I hope there is plenty of coverage of this year's winner, Ben Calloway. Wire to wire win, not too shabby. Always fun to watch footage of locals, especially on this big stage.

This one centers on final round play. Most of the action follows the lead card around the Toboggan, along with a few bits and pieces of action of the other cards.

This event was all about the Benjamins. Both Bens played well and it was a great tourney on all accounts.
