Wanting to try something different

Been kicking around this idea for the bag:

Distance: King or Boatman

Overstable: Spirit

Stable/Control: TD Rush

Fairway: Eagle or Teebird and JLS

Mid: Pain and Comet (I could do without the Pain and have the Jls cover or Eagle cover some steeper midrange hyzer shots)

Putter: Ion


I've been thinking about taking out the PDs because they aren't true stable. I feel like that I could cover straight shots with the TD and hyzer shots with the Spirit and Eagle. Jls for more finesse. Pain and Comet for shorter hyzers and anhyzers, respectively. Finally, either a King or Boatman for all out distance.

Either that setup or this:

Distance: King

Overstable: Spirit

Stable/ control: PD

Fairway: Gazelle

Mids: Pain and Comet

Putter: Ion

With the PD I could cover shots that the TD does and I would have some dependable fade. Gazelle for more control. No Eagle cause I think it will overlap enough with the PD.

The first setup meets my dumb "gimmick" mode that I'm in (gotta have a mold from different manufactuer) while, at the same time, providing me a good line shaping bag.

Whatca think?

By coincidence, with the exception of a some molds, I've ended up with an all discraft bag. For simplicity sake (not for fanboyism), I'm going to try to keep an all discraft bag. The eagle, teebird, and wraith are on reserve just in case. All my other discs are going to be traded.

I'd call it an Orc with a lower power requirement. A bit more glide, and still very straight.

I might have to try one out. Ive been lookon for a disc I can shape distance lines with, the flash seems like a good candidate... How does its speed and rim size compare to a force?

I think it's a little smaller than the Force. I can't remember

Thinking about changing things up a bit.

i would keep the force, and add either a nuke or hurricane to compliment it. this will meet all your distance driving needs.

After a disappointing round I came to the conclusion that it might be better served to mix up my bag. My distance is around 400ft.

My current bag:

Avenger
XL
Aftershock
Comet
Magnet

What I'm thinking:

Force (or Pro Destroyer for max distance)
Eagle (or TD)
Squall (doubles as a fast mid/slow fairway) or Leopard/XL
Comet
Challenger

I lack an understable distance driver.

On most throws I could probably get the Eagle in the same range as the Avenger. The Avenger is only a little longer. People have always complained about the sharp rim of the Avenger. I never had a problem until today, when it was really cold.

I like the idea of throwing the TD since it's a neutral driver. I would have to need something slower that is more stable to complement it. I'm done with the Magnet. I've had some success with it, but I don't like the ridge on the bottom of the disc.

The Force isn't a max D disc really. It's fast and overstable, which makes it predictable, but something with a little high speed turn like a Nuke, Quasar, Pro Desroyer, or even a Wraith/Surge will fly farther for most people in most conditions.

I stopped throwing the PDs because of the inconsistency of the P plastic. I had some really good outings with PDs. I was able to deuce holes that I was not able to do in the past. I opted for the Avengers because they maintain LSS better in X plastic. However, I think I will put the PDs back in the bag next time I'm out practicing.

I think the only certain thing that I'm completely secure with are my mids.

I'm glad I didn't get rid of the PD's. I think they work best in the S plastic once they are a little seasoned.

The problem I am having is with the PD, Predator, and TD. I can get the PD in all plastics to cover different shots or I could throw the Pred and TD to cover the same shots with possible better efficiency. The CPD is probably not going to be as OS as the most OS Pred, but it will probably cover most strong wind shots. The PPD is not going to be able to give those nice curving anhyzer shots like the TD can. On the flipside, I single both molds down to one and can rely on just one mold.

Any suggestions?

I carry both a cPD and a z predator. I don't throw the predator as much as I did previous to the cPD, but it's still nice to have the really overstable saftey blanket. The cPD gets a lot more of the controlled and placement shots when conditions are calmer for me lately.

I do use the pPD for a lot of normal fairway/control drives, and pair it with the FD too. I don't think it hurts to have something like your setup of TD/PD/Predator as long as they all have defined times you throw them. I think a pPD and s/cTD would probably heavily overlap though, I would have to think about when to use each one, and at least for me that puts doubt in what I want to do, which I try to avoid.
