MVP ION not legal??

Postby 7ontheline » Thu Jun 23, 2011 8:25 am

I had an old pro give me grief for the second time at pick up doubles last night that my Ion has a perceptable joining or crack or difference in the plastic where the overmold meets the flightplate. Is there some such spec or ruling against this and what can I say to shut him down next time other than point out the PDGA approved embossing AGAIN. I do like the guy and thanks.

He is 56 so senile might be part of it and I thanks MDP for the approved list link. He recounts a "Rocket," I think, and says that was approved for a year or so then was outlawed for whatever reason as well as the turbo putter because it isn't round. I'm not calling him a total ruley but he's definately old school working his beat to snot Leo, XD and classic aviar right down the middle.

Again, where might I find such a rule/spec/link/thread?

Shut your pie hole and get up to date with disc technology... he'd take that one well!

The link MDP posted is the definitive approved list. It's on it. End of debate (outside the guy's mind anyway.)

Print off the section of approved disc list containing the MVP Ion. Present it to him.

laugh at him and tell him to worry about his game instead of being wrong about the rules.

You might want to suggest to him that he would be better off to go eat a satchel of penises.
