MVP ION not legal??

I had a similar situation right after I got my first Ion in my Wednesday night mini. The old man who runs it/plays it every week is watching me get some putts up before the round and comes over...

Pops: "You ain't thinkin' 'bout using that thing tonight are you? I know we ain't sanctioned but I still go by the rules."

Me: Silently points to the PDGA Approved tooling on the underside of the disc (before the tooling was on the overmold on the newer Ion runs)

Pops: "God damn... I'm getting too old for this shit. Nice puttin' son."

That conversation almost word for word. Classic.

sounds like the same guy who tried to call a foot fault on 7 year old. I had this same guy give me grief for throwing a 2010 ace race disc in random double before it was approved. his partner mate told him to have a coke and a smile and shut the f*ck up.
