woah your bag looks a lot like mine in the driver section except I'm messing with the Northman and flow right now and haven't hopped on the TD wagon yet (mostly because I'm broke and can't afford new discs).

How you liking the flow? I'm digging my GL one and not really digging the opto one I have.

I didn't like it that much, but take into account that I didn't give it a large amount of time before I took it out of my bag.

Just didn't like having to try and find the sweet spot where it would turn a little but not too much. Seemed to be a very narrow speed range, either it wouldn't flip up all the way, or it would flip over too far. Generally it would finish with some fade at the end of its flight even if it flipped a lot, but it would use up way too much left to right fairway to do so.

OK, so here's what I most likely will be carrying for the STL Open this upcoming weekend (subject to change, obvi lol)

Drivers
172 P-PD2, new - won't carry this one unless it's really windy
172 QOLF, newish - controlled distance
171 MOLF, worn - main distance driver
175 C-TD, new
175 S-TD, worn - long turnovers

Midranges
176 S MD2, new - stable, workable midrange
176 C MD2, new - slightly more stable midrange
176 Opto Pain, new - overstable, wind fighter
172 Gold Pain, new - super beef, mainly use this one for sidearm approaches

Putters
174 Cryztal Challenger, used - find myself using this more and more for approaches
173 XLink Summit, new - straight and turnover approaches, been using this a lot more than comets lately
173 D Challenger, worn - main putter
173 D Challenger, worn - backup putter

So, you're probably aksing yourself, "Hey, where did all those comets go?" Well, honestly I haven't been using them as much lately. Summit has been used a lot for finesse approaches, and the spring winds - and they seem worse around here this year - haven't allowed me to use the comet off the tee as much as I'd like. I find myself using my cryztal challenger a lot more where I used to throw a comet, and the S-MD2 seems very capable of turnover drives off the tee as well. The comet is still my fav disc, even though I'm not using it right now, and that even seems odd to me.

OK, so here's what I most likely will be carrying for the STL Open this upcoming weekend - this time it's not subject to change :D Smaller bag, I find I play better with less options.

Drivers
172 QOLF 1.2, newish - controlled distance
175 SOLF 1.1, new - main distance driver
175 C-TD, new - turnover drives and straight hyzerflips
173 Z Predator, newish - overstable workhorse
175 Star Eagle-x, newish - slightly overstable control
170 Star Eagle-x, worn - main fairway driver

Midranges
178 Z Comet, new
174 Z Comet, worn - Silky Johnston
176 X Comet, beat
176 Opto Pain, new - overstable, wind fighter

Putters
174 Cryztal Challenger, used - find myself using this more and more for approaches
173 XLink Summit, new - straight and turnover approaches, been using this a lot more than comets lately
173 D Challenger, worn - main putter
173 D Challenger, worn - backup putter

I really liked the MD2s, but I just don't think I can play without my comets! If someone took them from me and told me to find a new midrange, I'd most likely give the MD2 a significant role in my bag, probably my primary midrange (and that might happen eventually, but not till I have more practice with them)

Finally got a new backpack bag! It's a Gateway Backpack bag (not the Ozark bag) and it's got a perfect amount of space in it for what I want to carry, while being insanely more comfortable than a quad shock setup. OrionLFs are now a primary staple disc in my bag, I threw numerous fantastic shots with them off the tee this weekend - too bad my long approach game wasn't working too well (and I forgot how to putt in the rain in Rd4). Going to give MD2s some serious time in the bag for right now. Obviously I can go back to Comets whenever, but this is one midrange I need to spend more time with before making a final decision on it. It really does seem like a fantastic disc.

Here's what I've got in there right now.

Drivers:
175 EchoStar Wraith - just trying this one out, doesn't look too much longer than OrionLFs for me.
172 QOLF 1.2 - controlled distance.
175 SOLF 1.1 - max distance
173 Z Predator - new
173 Z Predator - beat
175 Star Eagle-X, newish - need a champ eagle-x in this spot for a little added stability I think
170 Star Eagle-X, used - main control driver
175 S-TD Rush, used - still fairly straight
175 C-TD - main turnover driver

Midranges
176 Opto Pain - overstable mid, hard hyzer approaches
176 C MD2 - new
176 C MD2 - off the tee midrange, slight hyzer approaches
176 S MD2 - wearing in to turnover mid
174 Z Comet - beat, for touch turnovers

Putters
174 Cryztal Challenger - hyzer upshots, driving putter
173 Xlink Summit - anhyzer/straight approaches
173 D Challenger
173 D Challenger

Simplifying things a bit more. Consistency is coming back slowly, fewer wrenches to throw at problems means I have to get better at using wrenches (that makes sense in my head). Eagles and OrionLFs cover most everything that I don't throw a Comet on, and are usable at all ranges I use my drivers. Nice short/long fairway combo.

Drivers:
172 QOLF 1.2 - controlled distance.
175 SOLF 1.1 - distance
171 MOLF 1.1 , worn - long turnovers
173 Z Predator - new, very overstable
173 Z Predator - beat, workhorse overstable
175 Champ Eagle-X, slightly overstable driver
170 Star Eagle-X, used - main control driver
172 DX Eagle-L, working into a turnover driver

Midranges
176 Opto Pain - overstable mid, hard hyzer approaches
178 Z Comet - new, domey
175 Z Comet - new, not as domey
174 Z Comet - beat, for touch shots
177 X Comet - beat, finesse approaches and turnovers

Putters
174 Cryztal Challenger - hyzer upshots, driving putter
173 Xlink Summit - turnover approaches
173 D Challenger
173 D Challenger

Starting to get my health back, and starting to feel really good about this setup. I seem to have lost my touch driving my Comets though, need to work on that a little bit more. My straddle pitch putt has also returned to me, which is a really good indication of my back feeling normal again since I haven't been able to use it consistently since the injury last November.

nope, I think I'm going to roll with that setup. Hopefully my midrange game keeps me out of trouble on the long courses.

Sooooooo...switching some molds in and out again....but it's always the same couple of discs. Back on Rocs right now, with a comet compliment. Took out the summit in favor of a beat D challenger, which I can accomplish pretty much the exact same shots with anyway.

Distance Drivers:
172 Goldline Flow, newish - max D bomber
175 QOLF 1.2, new - predictable distance
175 SOLF 1.1, newish - more controllable than the Flow if the winds are blowing
171 MOLF 1.1, worn - huge turnovers and hyzerflips

Control Drivers
172 Z Predator, new - very overstable. spike hyzers, must go left type shots
173 Z Predator, worn - workhorse overstable
175 Champ EagleX, newish - slightly overstable fairway
170 Star EagleX, worn - straight fairway driver. might put a new Champ EagleL in this spot.
172 DX EagleL, some wear - turnover fairway driver

Midranges
172 Z Hornet, new - just toying with this one in place of my Opto Pain. Seems more HSS and less glidey, which could work out OK.
175 KC Pro Roc, new - slightly overstable.
175 DX Rancho Roc, minor wear - straight stable.
174 ESP Comet, new - finesse midrange.
177 X Comet, beat - turnover midrange.

Putters
173 D Challenger, beat - throwing putter, straight/turning approaches.
174 Cryztal Challenger - hyzer approaches, driving putter
173 D Challenger x2 - putting putters

This setup (or variations listed above) should work pretty well for me going forward. I was immediately comfortable with Rocs back in the bag since they have been my primary midrange on and off since I've started playing. I'm going to stick with this lineup at least until the end of September.

Haven't played much in the last 6 weeks or so, been busy with a new second job and prep work for Mid Am which went off well last weekend.

Distance Drivers:
175 QOLS 1.3? new - a little more distance than OLFs
175 QOLF 1.2, new - predictable distance
175 SOLF 1.1, newish - max D
171 MOLF 1.1, worn - huge turnovers and tailwind max D

Control Drivers
172 Z Predator, new - very overstable. spike hyzers, must go left type shots
173 Z Predator, worn - workhorse overstable
175 Champ EagleX, newish - slightly overstable fairway
170 Star EagleX, worn - straight fairway driver.
172 DX EagleL, some wear - turnover fairway driver

Midranges
175 KC Pro Roc, new - slightly overstable.
178 DX Rancho Roc, new - for the wear cycle.
175 DX Rancho Roc, minor wear - straight stable.
176 DX Ontario Roc - less stable roc
177 X Comet, beat - turnover midrange, finesse approaches. this disc doesn't like going left

Putters
173 D Challenger, beat - throwing putter, straight/turning approaches.
174 Cryztal Challenger - hyzer approaches, driving putter
173 D Challenger x2 - putting putters

I did manage to snag one of the gateway bullseye putting baskets (the ones with just the inner row of chains) to help take my putting to the next level. Fairly happy with the bag I'm carrying now.

Well life bring changes to us sometimes, some good and some bad. My disc golf time has been limited to a couple of rounds a month because we just welcomed our son Braylon to our world. Been a long time since I posted what I'm throwing so here's my latest list.

175 star Teedevil
175 1.2 qolf, very stable
175 1.1 solf, nice controlled distance
171 1.1 molf, beat for long turnovers

171 z predator, like a spirit
173 z predator, domey
176 z stalker, new fly dye pretty stable
172 glow z stalker
173 z stalker, nice for turnovers

175 z hornet, new
172 z hornet, worn
176 esp comet
175 z comet
174 z comet, nicely worn
176 x comet, beat for turnovers

174 cryztal challenger
2x 173 d challenger

considering putting rocs and eagles back in and taking stalkers and hornets out, mainly for comfort reasons.

the stalker seems to fit better range wise with the rest of my lineup since it fits nicely between how far I'm throwing OLFs and hornets. I can't convince myself either way what I should do. More experience with the eagle but they overlap more with OLFs.

Are you only throwing the EX mold? Or do you also throw the EL? I like the EX/EL combo. It works very nicely as my next progression from roc's.

I was using a champ ex, a worn star ex, and a dx eL. I really liked using both molds since the eL is a good straight disc to start with and wears into a nice turnover disc.
