(I couldn't find my old bag thread so here's this one)

After many months of sparse DG thanks to a broken foot and surgery on my head, I'm crawling back into playing regularly again. I'm the quintessential maxing out at 300' guy right now, I'm not getting my body into my throw much at all, so that's the bad news. The good news is that I've pretty much got 300' of D from a standstill, with putters and mids nearly as far as my drivers.

Utility discs:
175 Champ Banshee - overstable utility (thumbers, headwind, FH rollers, FH and Hyzer spikes)
155 Champ Leo - understable utility (flips, rollers, finesse FH, shots where I can only move my arm)
175 Star Starfire - beat, do it all FH disc

Drivers (from flippy to beefy):
165 Star EX - beat
148 Star EX - No wind, max D
170 Opto River - stable/turnover driver
171 ESP Cyclone - Mr. Expendable/water disc
168 Star EX - new, backup
175 Champ EX - possibly too beat for its moderate headwind duties, may need replacing.

Midranges:
175 Vector - overstable (on trial)
174 Pain - overstable (on trial)
179 GL Fuse - stable, comet-like
177 Opto Fuse - beat

Putters:
175 M Ion - putts
173 S Ion - drives, approaches.

So here's my question(s). My overstable mid category is in upheaval due to trying to go away from Nebulae. I was using a 175 Neb for a moderate O~S mid and a 165 Neb for a straight as hell, Buzzz-like laser mid. I think the Pain is going to win out over the Vector (until MVP makes a more neutral mid) and easily replace the 175 Neb. My problem is that I want a straight dose of Pain to replace the 165 Neb and I'm thinking 165-170 GL Pain to fill the bill. If anybody has experience with light Pains or has an idea of what the straightest Pain would be, comment away.

I'm pretty content with my drivers. I got the Cyclone b/c it's a little slower than my Eagles and I really like it. It's a little odd man out but I'm thinking about just using it and either a Star Leo, a S Polaris LS, or a new heavy ESP Cyclone (if mine wears in enough to be U~S) and just going very driver minimal since right now I've got OAT to work out and fundamentals to brush up on.

What do you guys think?

Why not the Hornet? That thing was pretty Nebula-like to me (note: haven't thrown a nebula in a while, might be much slower than I remember).

Anyway the big issue I have with your bag is you having 3 utility discs and they are all drivers. That is a lot of utility discs and I feel by having that many utility discs you might not use your core discs as much as you would. I bet if you take out the starfire and leo you will find your core bag can do a ton of stuff those discs are used for.

p.s. if you don't like the vector I'll buy/trade something for it.

The Pain is in and the Vector is out. Sorry Frank, I sold it to a buddy. The Vector and I didn't get along, I couldn't get a clean release with it for some reason. I do like the Pain but I haven't thrown it too much b/c A: I'm throwing an Ion a shit-ton, and B: overstable mids tend to make me OAT-ey so I usually let my Ion and Fuses take care of mid work.

I didn't like the Hornet for some reason, though I haven't thrown it in Z yet. Cores and Cros are big, fat, stinky turds and anyone who compares them to Nebulae will earn my ire. Buzzz is always an option, I'm gonna be patient with the Pain and see how it wears in.

Surgery: Yes, I had some cysts on mi cabeza that had to be cut out. I now have a sweet, long scar on the back of my head.

When I say utility drivers, I mean it. I hardly throw them and make Eagles of all stages of wear do 99% of shots. Back when I FH a lot more, I didn't like using my BH drivers for FH b/c it wore them in too quick but I might just try to swap the Starfire out for this new bottom stamp S-EX I got from Chuckster that's pretty beefy, good idea Frank. Also, I did lose the Cyclone in Reidsville. I don't think God wants me to throw them for some reason.

My FH has gotten a little better since I dropped my Starfire crutch but I still miss it. My FH with the Ion and other discs has gotten better enough that I'm conflicted on what to throw on a lot of approaches now, almost too many options. I'm becoming a jack of all trades, master of none. I'm waiting for a Pain to beat in to take that MD2's spot but I do like it, overlap be damned. Never thought I'd carry 3 putter molds but the Ion and Zone are used more like mids than putters in my game.

Yay! I knew OATman would be back, a little more pixelated, but it's okay, I've had resizing issues in the past.

And the recent heat has changed my bag up a lot, it's all about grip for me, and anything star/esp/gold line has pretty much felt like goo in this weather. It's kind of hurt my game a bit, as I've been forced to switch around. I'm almost about to write down a "heat-wave only bag" just to remember what works and what doesn't.

I've honestly always used my zone as a mid, and once I figure out my ion, that too will be used in the same way most likely. The zone is the ultimate utility disc IMO.

You have quite the unique bag, Mr. eagle extraordinaire. No suggestions from me though, maybe see what you can eliminate from the mid spot, will just make your life easier.
