Another Anime Purge

Figured I would post a new thread rather than rehash my old one.

Started packing for my move and realized how many of these i doubt i'll ever want to watch again. that doesn't mean they're bad, just that they didn't "do it" for me. prices include shipping

I have issues with Samurai 7 since I've seen Kurosawa's Seven Samurai like 50 times. I didn't hate it but there were lots of times where I found myself going "really? you had to add that to the story and thought it made it better?" I plan to replace it with the Bluray set.

This "purge" is different than my previous purges... at other times I was mainly dumping stuff I didn't want. I have space limitations and had gone with all thinpak releases (replacing many loose volume or art box releases). Since then I cut my anime collection down significantly... only to stuff that I can see myself re-watching several times... and this freed up a lot of space. I made the (stupid ocd) decision to replace all my thinpaks with either Bluray or Art Box/Volumes since that is the format I would most like to have them in.

The end result is that I spent way too much money but this purge is mostly A-list titles that I either rebought or plan to purchase again in either Bluray or Art box/Volume format. Since I'm an anal retentive collector nerd, many of these are versions that are either OOP or in pristine condition. e.g. the Samurai 7 set I have up is the "best" version of the thinpak.

With the last update I also dropped the prices on just about everything which limits my "wiggle room" since I'm trying to still get 50% of what I have into these sets.

updated again. i may be swapping out the Fate Stay Night volumes for the thinpak later this week.

i can be a bit flexible on a few of the sets left (depends heavily upon which ones they are) if you wanted to buy several sets at once. e.g. if i paid $50 for it and i have it priced at $15 i probably can't go any lower. if i paid $20 for it and i have it at $15, i might be able to swing something.

i can also give recommendations.

blake i didnt know you were an anime nerd. you just got cooler. looking at the list and having seen many of those i can see why you are getting rid of them.

yeah, aside from a couple of brief jumps into guitar gear and a/v revamping, anime has been my primary hobby for the past 2-3 years or so (i usually phase through hobbies in 6-12 month increments).

about 40% of what i have for sale are series that I really liked and decided to replace what i had with my favorite version of the set. e.g. gunslinger girl, akira, cowboy bebop the movie, and full metal panic i replaced with bluray, speed grapher and genshiken i replaced with the limited/premium edition art box sets, etc.

the remaining 60% are split between stuff i watched once and didn't like (or didn't even finish), or sets that i watched once or twice but felt no desire to ever watch them again (or if i do want to watch them again i'll just buy them again in the future).

it's taking me a lot longer to unload these than i had hoped though.

Yeah, I kind of felt Death Note was either 10 episodes too long for its given story or could have been developed better and extended 10 more episodes but as it was, there's a lull in the late-middle that is hard to get through.
