Planning Trip to Minneapolis in October

I'm attending a meeting in Minneapolis (Convention Center) in October. I have to attend a session on the morning of Tuesday the 11th, but other than that my schedule is fairly open/flexible.

I also figured this could be a splendid opportunity to plan some disc golf activities in the twin cities region, and a good time of year for it as well (in terms of weather). I noticed a tournament the weekend prior (Crown Classic), which might be fun to play (any opinions?). Also, any suggestions on good+cheap accommodations in the area would be much appreciated.
