I think dodge has said in the past to use dish or laundry soap(or something like that)

Citrus wash is the cure.

I'll have to give the citrus wash a trial run on my glossiest/slickest Ridge. If it makes that thing feel better, then everything else is going into the bath.

I'm not ready to give my full review yet, but i will say this. These 2 new molds fly very similar to molds already on the market. I didn't really find anything special about them. The biggest advantage is the Vibram rubber, but i find the blend these are in to not be that great feel wise. It just feels cheaper than other Vibram I've had. Can't comment on the durability yet. I would also like to try them in a firm blend. Blah...

I have a Super-Firm Sole. I'm personally not a fan of the Firm blends, but the Super-Firm blend isn't that much different from some of my firmer Firms - just stiffer. Not sure if it influences the Sole's glide though - I don't have a Regular X-Link one yet and I have a Regular Ibex coming my way, so hopefully I'll see if my observation of the blend matches yours. Sole is really very Magnetish, and I'm not going to keep mine in the bag - it's going into the collection instead. Definitely ready to find a production run Ridge that I can reliably rely on for my preferred grip. I got two of the new Granite Chunk Ridges (firm blend) and one of them has great grip for a Firm Ridge and the other is more chalky like my other Firms.

(Not being able to identify runs is why I snap up every reasonably priced First-Run Ridge I run across).

The degreaser worked some, its not slick much but could be better.

So whats the general consensus on xlink firm...does it wear in faster than xlink and xlink soft?

So far im liking my xlink soles.i love how they dont shoot off 30feet left or right after hitting an object.surprisingly...my two soles were more stable than I anticipated. Thrown flat in a light headwind, they sailed straight as can be'.in a tail...they hooked up a little faster. I used it for some flick approaches, flick annys and it worked amazing.never turned and burned at any point. Ive only got one round with it but I can see potential. I took my yetis out to give the sole a fair trial pn everything.

Putting is a diff story..thats what my omegas are for :)

Firm beats faster than Regular or Soft.

Not much to break in the soft, no structure to speak of. =)

The Super Firm soles get tossed out of the chains pretty easily if you don't put a little bit of muscle into your putt. I learned this the hardway.

I've had a supersoft proto VP in my bag since long before any VPs were released commercially. It looks & flies exactly the same as it did on day one.

Strangely enough, I am quite liking the Sole for driving & have yet to really find my groove with it for putting. This from a disc that Vibram itself describes as its first "putter" putter. On the other hand, I love their self-described "driver" putters (particularly Ridge) for putting, but not so much for driving.

I still can't warm to the Ibex. It seems like I have to huck it harder than I want to typically throw my mid to make it fly right. If I do, though, it flies like a champ. Maybe a mental wall I need to bust through, or maybe a flaw in the disc diminishing its suitability for those with noodle-ish arms.

i just got in another sole today and this one is a little stiffer than the other xlinks i received, not by much though. i love the way this one feels as its not too stiff but just enough to dig my thumb in. its also super flat which i love. slightly noticeable lower shoulder height compared to the others that had a slightly high shoulder because of the tiny dome .gonna try this one today to see how it compares to the others. im not gonna bother trying to putt with these as my omegas are my bread and butter and nothing will change that. however ,these soles make awesome driving putters, ironically since these were made to be a more "traditional" putter design

also i will say this sir dodge. this sole i got in today did NOT have any slick streaks on it like the others did. this one is all uniform in grip and feels sweet.

Got a new Dana V Ridge in (X-Link) and it feels somewhat like a mix of my First Run ridges with the chalky/firm feel of some of my Firm Ridges. It's firmer than most of my Regular Ridges but not as Firm as the least Firm Ridge I've got. Kind of a nice blend. But the trimming of the flashing around the PLH is AWFUL. It's all chunked up.

And just to stay on topic a bit - my Firm Ridges definitely have some holes and dents put into them, while the Regular X-Link pretty much looks almost exactly like they did when I first bought them. I own no Soft Vibram just yet, but I suspect those will be indestructible by anything except the elements. Really don't want to remember to have to bring a disc indoors instead of leaving it out in the garage exposed to the elements.
