Some very fond memories of playing the original Tribes. It was the first FPS that I remember that actually had good netcode.

True. With school, Skyrim, BF3, Project CARS and the upcoming rFactor 2 there's no way I can get into something that requires that much practice and is only doable online. I'll wait until the release. The skiing looks fun.

I have been playing Tribes since Starsiege as well. Played Ariel Assault so much that not only did our clan (~GoD~) get a Silver Shazbot in the CTF tournaments when they were hot but that game is also where I met my wife.

In fact I have been playing Tribes 2 still. I'm sure you know this but T2 is a free game now (just google Tribes Next) and the Goon Haven server is still active as shit for anyone else that wants to check the IP out. Vengeance is the only one of theirs I don't have 1000+ hours on because it's online was shit but I quite loved that game's campaign.

My name is miasma in there right now but I want to change it, though not sure if I can or not yet (do you know how to?). My video card is actually taking a shit and my new one should be at home when I get there so tonight starts my more heavily involved trial of the game.

I am kinda being a bitch about the fact they took my favorite game franchise and whored it out via Pay 2 Play, but I am giving it the old college try and sticking it out trying to buy absolutely nothing.

I think you may be able to change your name in your hirez mission command account or whatever its called.....maybe not though? The ftp model they are using really isnt a big problem for me so far, I paid the $30 for the vip pre order package which included enough gold to get 5 or 6 classes and a permanent boost to exp and I've unlocked all but one remaining class and im halfway to that one, I dont think i'll have to spend money again on this game but even if so im only $30 in now and id have easily paid 60 for what the finished product will be, im happy to pay these guys for bringing back Tribes as long as they dont get greedy about it........lack of mod support on the other hand is unfortunate to say the least, ill add you next time im on
