Why is innova trying so hard?

That said, DC doesn't usually just tweak a mold of a popular disc without telling anyone.

It's not so much what Innova can't control (inconsistencies in plastic) that bothers me but, rather, what they can control i.e., tweaking popular molds without telling anyone.

The only disc that I liked from dga was the reef. Great putter, but for my putting style it didn't work out as well for me. I will say though that DGA does make the best practice basket for the price the dga machlite! All the discs you mentioned himynameismatt ARE some of the Innova staple discs and in the community. But if you read my Post FULLY you would have understood that I was asking why they are pumping out discs that fly similar to others like the Archon it doesn't fly anything like the wraith it is way less understable and isn't promoted as such.

The answer is because they sell.

Also just so we're sure, you know that DGA is molded by DC right?

The whole dc consistancy thing is bs, they simply make less discs. Lat tried to claim supreme consistancy when they made only a few molds but later renigged their claim.
Most companies are pleased to offer varience, however innova has recently been nasty in their qc, allowing discs that wouldnt pass testing, tweaking molds, and mislabeling discs.

Expierenced players dont count for shit when it comes to retail sales. They win, trade, or get the majority of their stock discs. Innova sells a jam packed lineup for the player with one throw and a mold for every degree of shot

I wouldn't say that the reef is the apx but I get your point. And thanks craftsman you finally hit the point. ALL I was saying was that Innova already HAD legendary discs and didn't need to just produce sub par discs and slap cool names on them to sell them. This turned into something that it wasn't meant to be at all, NOT HATING! Ppl get that through your heads I'm not hating. Think more openly then that. I have ppl that bash what I throw all the time and I see their points as well.

I've thrown both ferretdance03 and currently throw the apx. The reef that I threw had a similar flight path but had a bit more glide then the apx. And Yes I know that dga is fathered by dc. But do you really think that I company is going to give away all their secrets?

Reef and APX are the same mold though, some Reefs even have the text "APX" on the bottom. The differences between them are just a showcase of DC not being any better than the others when it comes to consistency. And since Discraft is doing the molding they're not giving away any secrets by stamping out some APX's and putting a DGA Reef stamp on them. DGA doesn't have disc designers as such, most of their lineup consists either of older versions of Discraft molds (like the Tsunami) or if they want a new disc they ask DC to design one for them, and if it fits they put them into production. It's pretty much the same for Millennium and Discmania with Innova.

Now that I didn't know about the older molds, that's a nice fact. I'll have to weigh the discs and see. The reef is a friend of mine's and he told me that it was a 175 but wasn't too sure. If it's lighter then that would explain the extra glide. And for the fact that it was a completely different plastic, I think they call it sp.

I would have because I find this whole thread a joke. DC is not more or less consistent than any other manufacturer and Innova makes a ton of molds because people buy them and it makes them a ton of money. DC is starting to figure this out and just tweaking their molds and slapping OS or SS on them.
