when i was in high school i worked at the local taco bell. one night after closing i threw a dinning tray like a frisbee in the dinning room. i missed the pepsi machine and aced, if remember correctly, the sign that said nachos. the manager on duty didn't want to get in trouble, so we made up an excuse that the rush of snowboarders before the dinning room closed broke the sign and we didn't notice it until after we locked up. the excuse worked. the store manager, who was a massive alcoholic with a gambling problem and fetish for borrowing money from the safe, bought the story and told the owner of store. the sign was replaced and we were told to keep an eye on snowboarders from then on. some time later, the manager on duty was eventually arrested for stealing money from the safe to buy crack. he stole three hundred some dollars and spent it all on crack and smoked it all in the store's bathroom after closing. the store manager eventually got his 3rd dui weeks after getting off work release for his second. he fled the state after posting bail and was never heard from again. that job was the worst. that's just one of the many, many beyond fucked up stories i have from my far too long stint at taco bell.

haha well the time issue turned out to be something else entirely .. server migration stuff.
before I called him a fucktard I asked, and I was editing a master which was being copied with dynasets. the only real problem is that the slave would throw an error once per table. but we could use a free DBA cuz we're super overworked

I share an office with the tech director and the nerd jokery gets strong. Not that I really know what I'm doing, but I get by with suggesting worst practices. PDFs and Flash and marquee text.. shit like that. Also the old "I turned off all the firewalls and browsed celeb gossip on the server on Friday afternoon"
