too much text on a power point is a faux pas. it just distracts the audience from what the presenter is saying. power point should be used as an organizational tool, not the message. the presenter is messenger. i use power point, it's a great organizational tool and beats writing on a chalk or marker board all day. i do draw diagrams on the on the board to explain ideas that benefit from a visual, usually the more abstract concepts and theories. i dislike super fancy power points with unnecessary fonts, backgrounds, and other gimmicks. people in education use dumb, childish fonts because there are theories and research that say it makes people feel less intimidated. when people use bubbly and "cutesy" fonts, i take them less seriously. times new roman for life.
