Nope. Dave's round will come in third best of all time on any SSA course behind Skinner and Climo's 1117s.

Those rounds were the 8th and 9th 1100s. They should both hold up as 1100+ when they go official. Interesting that there were no 1100s at all during 2011. Worlds in 2011 with all 27 hole courses significantly reduced the chances. I think Bradford has the potential to yield an 1100 at Worlds this year of the three being played by Open.

Those were much harder courses...Vista del Camino is literally a "walk in the park."

I'm very surprised many more MPOs didn't shoot better than -10 today. Nate had a terrible round (we watched on discgolfplanet.tv), and he is in 8th place!

Correct. I accidentally grabbed the file for rounds thru the end of 2010.

@ JHern - This Vista layout is tougher per hole than any of the Worlds courses last year on an 18-hole basis by about 2 shots. It's much tougher, so far impossible, to come close to maintaining an 1100 level of performance for 27 versus 18 holes. Santa Cruz had the 4th toughest SSA average for Pro Worlds courses since we started doing stats in 1998 behind Allentown, Highbridge and KC.

Isn't this really 27 versus 36 holes/day?

I would love to have my play be on the sucky 1100+ level :-D
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

The KC SSA average for MPO was 0.1 higher than Santa Cruz 56.4 vs 56.3. For comparison, Allentown and Highbridge were 58.9 and 58.5 SSA in the preliminary rounds.

How would you know? If players get better, shouldn't their ratings increase? Interestingly, the SSA on the course was virtually identical to when Dave shot his 46 in 2008. It doesn't appear there was any net effect in SSA of any changes in some hole designs versus 2008. Dave and Paul just shot better.

Considering that five of the ten best rounds of all time on courses in the 54-60 SSA range have now been shot on Vista, a wide open course with a lot of OB, it either indicates these are the type of courses we should be using for Championships or maybe that they are "too easy" and shouldn't be used.

The other five courses with the top ten records are:
Cranbury Park Tour Layout (A) (2010 Cranbury Classic)
Järva Discgolf Park 1-18 South-North (A) (2010 Stockholm Discgolf Open)
White Park 2006 Bowling Green Open R2 (2006 Bowling Green Open)
Tom Bass Tournament Regular (B) (2010 Texas State Disc Golf Championships)
Hwa Chung Bridge Sport Park Par 58 (2009 Asia Open)

I know White Park and Tom Bass Tournament are wide open and Järva has lots of OB. Maybe others can pipe in regarding Hwa Chung and Cranbury.
