Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

This was actually my first thought after reading about it.
At these local tournies, no one will beat them(for the most part) and they get to keep 100% of the entries with the top 4 spots pretty much. It's really not that farfetched to think that this was just an easy way for them to stay on the road year round.
