I'm a very casual player and have worked on putting and mid throws much more than driving. I currently throw a 150 Champion Valkerie which I can get out to 270-280 on most throws. I know the disc can do much more than that, but that's where I am at this point. When I throw, I throw it slightly hyzer and get maybe 15 degrees of turn and a very predictable glide about 20-25 feet off the ground. My big problem is driving into the wind, where the Valkerie turns over so bad I can't keep it on the course. I haven't figured out how to do an extreme hyzer and still get any control or power, so my first thought is to go with a more stable disc. I've thrown a Boss and couldn't do anything but chunk it hard right (I'm LHBH) and watch it hit the ground about 200 feet later. So is there a disc that grips similar to a Valkerie but is more stable for going into the wind? Or would I be better off trying some new techniques or simply going to a heavier Valkerie so it penetrates better?
