I wish our other "big" off season pickup was working out as well as Cabrera, Angel Pagan is looking like a flat out useless pickup so far, he's doing nothing but preventing our excellent new call-up center fielder (Gregor Blanco) from getting play time. Hopefully Pagan's leash is short cuz I think he's around 2 for 24 at this point and he had an awful spring also.
Rooting for SF would drive me insane. The pitching is there, but damn that team can't hit it's ass with both hands. The pitching is strong enough to keep them there, but the rest is a roll of the dice. If their hitters get hot down the stretch, they can win. You just can't count on them getting hot like they did in 2010 every year. They could be contenders...or not. No way to tell.

They should probably stop giving MLB time to Aubrey Huff and let their hot young bats like Belt get some time in.

That was the story last year but so far this year Belt has looked terrible, he has great power but too many holes in his swing......he may just never quite cut it unfortunately.

He's had like 15 plate appearances this year and you really shouldn't make too many conclusions off of ST. I'd probably give a guy more time to prove himself before writing him off.

The O's will give you proven first baseman Chris Davis for Brandon Belt.

One question. How many 6'5" players out there can cover their own massive strike zones? Not even just currently, how many good hitters in MLB history have been that tall? I know Dave Winfield was somewhere up there but I am having a tough time thinking of any others. I do agree that belt may need more time to settle in but time and time again when he's given a chance he seems to hit around .180 for a couple weeks and then gets benched, I can't really blame them for sitting him anymore. Brett Pill may even be an all around better option for us at first, I hope I am wrong here as I was calling for Belt all last season and he seems like a cool kid.

Yeah, we don't call Giants baseball "torture" around here for no reason, I think our offense is gonna be a lot better this year though. With the combination of adding Melky and the majority of our home grown talent (Crawford, Scheirholtz, Burriss, Sandoval. Etc) looking much better in the batters box this year I'm gonna say we have a really good chance of taking the division. Losing Brian Wilson doesn't help but hopefully Sergio Romo can step into that spot and do as well as he does as a setup man because he is flat out sick in the 7th and 8th

look at these people who have won a WS recently bitching about rooting for their team being torture.

Get back to me when your team hasn't seen the post season in over a decade.

I am happy the brewers are finally decent again. My entire life they have been bad but I still get to about 10 games a year.

Ist, I would like to apologize for actually discussing the topic of dgcr. I have started reading dgcr occasionally because THIS SITE SEEMS OBSESSED WITH IT ( for no apparent reason).

2nd. Can someone give me the downlow? What is the vibe of dgcr? Is there more than meets the eye? Is it all just insults and closing down threads because somebody gets offended? How do you find the worthwhile stuff there?

Evidently Frank Delicious got banned? Does this mean open warfare?

I was banned a while ago, now I mostly just use a dummy account to trade over there. Don't read the technique section, it's really bad.

There's the occasional nugget, usually supplied by someone from here. Though if you're looking for stupidity on a legendary scale, there's no shortage.

I went to their forum once last year and the FAQ section seemed ok. I was apparently lucky in reading an intelligent discussion about form and yes i recognized familiar guys from here. The wackiest guys might still troll there but DGR seems to be a safe haven for many DGCR ban hammered people. We've had quite a migration in the last year. Either DG is growing and there are so many people in there that the flame wars have become too intense from sheer participator count or the moderation has taken a harsher hand in dealing with things or the colorful persons have turned the fun and games into a new gear and gotten the boot. Whichever the case(s) is/are DGR has seen an increase in funny stuff since we took the outspoken people under our collective wings. And because the moderation here is much more tolerant of all manner of festivities the funnies have taken on new shades and dimensions. Not to mention amounts.

Judging by the accounts of others and the way the guys migrating here telling how things are there i may not like it there. Life's too short. I rather keep things constructive than get spit on my face from a horde blowing hot air over nothing. YMMV.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

It really is tough when I go out dressed casual and I have to decide between wearing the 2011 Championship cap or the 2006 Championship cap. :P

I really just read DGCR for the Lulz and for the marketplace section (best place to find random OOP things)
