Soooooo... I saw that there was no dedicated thread for this disc. I recently bought a 169 GL that flies awesome. It is not as overstable as the Optos I've heard about. I threw it out a bit past 400 in a headwind today at the course. It fill the spot of my beat CFR run CPD quite well. I love the grip, just deep enough and wide enough, very wraith like.

What are yalls impression on this disc? Is it consistent in individual plastics? Does it hold stability through its weight range? What is your opinion on its glide?

Glide is just fine, I like the opto and have heard good things about the GL, but haven't gotten a chance to try one yet.

I've got a 167g Opto. It was too overstable for me initially, couldn't do anything with it. However, as I my power has increased over the summer, I've been able to get some nice throws out of it. It will glide nicely provided there is enough spin.

I can confirm that the Opto is a hog. I haven't thrown a GL.

The Opto is in my bag...If the PD is a longer TB, then the Villain is a longer PD. Sounds like I need to try the GL too...

If Halo's would flip on you or you just wanted a stable/overstable high speed driver with a good gripping rim. The GL Villain is for you. It fills that slot in Latitudes line up of "What do I throw here that I can get distance with and won't just turn and burn like a Havoc/Halo/Riot/Flow...

How does it handle wind?

Opto? Doesn't even notice there's wind. I imagine the GL will perform pretty well in wind as well.

the gl villain handles a head wind very well and depending on the wind speed, may have some turn but nothing too bad and will always come back. Now, the opto is what I reach for if I do not want any turn and to throw with complete confidence into a head wind. And the glide on both of them is amazing, especially into the head wind.

I was gonna post something to the effect of this, the pink 175 opto I had was similar in stability to a "good" fresh PD, not what I would call a hog at all, but very reliable, unfortunately it was barely longer than my PDs and tended to slip ojt of my hand early every time due to it's mild +rim. It had great potential but I hated mine.

I haven't thrown the Villain but my TP Boatman turns in headwinds when the PD doesn't. Isn't the Villain marketed as a more beefy Halo? The Halo is pretty beefy too so i imagine the Villain is not too far apart from the Giant how do they compare?

The Villain is not like the Halo...It has a narrower rim, a taller profile, and does not get understable into a headwind. Perhaps the Giant is the beefier Halo? I have not thrown the Giant yet.

The Giant is fading out way earlier and way harder than the Halo so the description fits to a degree but the Giant is way shorter at least without a lot more power than i have or stiff headwinds to delay the onset of the fade. Yup i threw mine farther in a headwind than in calm weather on a line drive. S curving to headwind i got to 390-400' can't recall which but in calm weather only to 370-375'. And that calm wind shot was the best one with a little skipping so normally it is more like 360' which is really close to my Z Pred distance.
