It's the original! Certainly a good disc. Mine's a little beat in, have to see how it performs next to a nice mid-range.

love it but sold my last 3 champs to Steezo a while ago b/c with the pure and the anode there are new discs that can get out to 300' pretty easily.

DX beats in to very flippy and even worse wind handling than new and Star ain't exactly a wind beater. There the Anode shines out of straight putters. Even with a beat Aero the fade in putting and the relative lack of glide to the most gliding discs out now it ain't the best longer range laser putter. I'm sure it's competitive for pitch putts especially if you like some fade with the disc.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

after i post i went and played a little 12 hole course in the town i am staying in. most hole are between 250'and 325'. i tied the best score i have ever gotten on the course with just the aero. granted there was no wind and i hit 2 shots in the 75' range but it was cool. i am going to have to track down a champ i had one in 2004 but i think i sold it a while back, a star might be good i see some xouts listed around, have to see how fast the dx beats in. I will be pairing it with magnets and a zone so being a little flippy is ok.

Those pearly champ ones were cool. I don't even want to talk about those Star ones.

You guys mentioning the Anode in relation to the Aero made me think of how a large diameter Anode would fly. I think it could be pretty bad ass.

I haven't thrown a Champ but the Star is ok just fades a hair more than the DX but with noticeably more HSS after a while.

JGillia saw the Orange one just HAD to have it. The old champs are nice but I'm not a fan of star aeros. They drop faster than the expected aero forward fade.

I love the old champ ones. I always find myself going back to having one in the bag for duration. I got rid of most of them but i still think i got one of the gummy champ ones left.

Must go look now...... :)

To be honest, I've never thrown one. Just looking at them on the shelf, all heavy and domey, was enough to turn my stomach. They look like they'd be horrible, glideless hunks of crap. You'll have to take my word as a disc nerd on that.

My Star is flatter than my DX so there seems to be a large variance in dome heights.
