Regardless, my main issue is the fact that it's not a Bo3. How fucking shitty is it to play 162 games and get booted after 1.

Especially when they had a better regular season record by a decent margin.

You have to be closer than three runs to cry that the Umps screwed you.

Best of one is dumb. The issue is making the other eight teams sit around while you play three games. You would end the season Wednesday, play Fri-Sat-Sun games and start the Division round on Monday. That leaves you with no guaranteed games on Sunday (which is bad for TV) unless you start the 2-3 series on Sunday as well and make the WC turn around and play the next day if the series goes 3. Even at that, you make the 1 seed sit around Th-Fr-Sat-Sun and get cold. Baseball players don't take four days off.

Basically the extra wild card is dumb. Money grab. It kept Milwaukee in the race and sold some tickets, though.

The O's/Yanks game was really good until the 9th when JJ had a bad outing but whatever, statistically speaking he was due for a bad one and there are 4 more games.

Anyone else feel that momentum shift in Cinci today? I had damn near given up all hope after those first two games, regardless of what happens tomorrow I'm stoked that they made it exciting Go Giants! Go A's! Go O's! Go....I don't give a shit about the Cards or Nats.
