DGCR makes me want to bang my head against a wall

I saw that thread too. It's now locked. but I've said in the past that the weight limit for discs is a moot point in the age of wide rimmed bevel edged discs. when everyone was throwing lids a 200g disc would fly farther and more stable than one weighing 150g or 115g. but with modern discs it magnifies the stability effect. so a 180g leopard doesn't fly as far or on the same lines as a 170g leopard.

but now the trend is going towards super light discs so the argument is still moot. but they should just remove the "max weight" requirement.

Nay, it's also there for wind handling reasons. If everyone could just pull out their 300 gram putter when the wind kicked up past 20mph it would make it too easy.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure my Wizard is over the weight limit. I plan to replace it once I verify this because I don't want to cheat.

speed has everything to do with it. you see, the speed of the bottom informs the top how much pressure he's supposed to apply. speed's the name of the game.

i arbitrarily pick speed 10 and make it a ratio and not an interval level of measurement. that should really confuse the brain trust. i demand science. jen b has been firing the question cannon like crazy.

For whatever reason I decided to go on the DGCR forums for the first time in months and I saw that weight thread and I raged hard. I can only imagine the responses that I got from it. I left after that post I am not going to go back any time soon.
