Some of us even remember watching Black Francis writhe around on stage in a black dress in the 80s, and it was from Surfer Rosa.

I got to see the Pixies play in a tiny club in Rochester, NY during their Surfer Rosa tour. outstanding show before I knew they were my favorite band.
I think I even teared up a little while watching the 2004 reunion tour DVD, Pixies Sell Out, when all the youngsters in the crowd were singing along while the band played.

I am jealous. I saw them at Riverfront Coliseum (now US Bank Arena). I would've loved to have seen them back then at an intimate venue. I can only imagine how insane it would've been at Bogart's (Cincy boy here. It's our long time small venue). Even still, their performance was incredible.

The worst show I ever saw for the band being incompetently wasted was the Replacements. They were so hammered that they couldn't play, not a single one of them. For some reason when I was 19 years old it seemed like the coolest thing I had ever seen.

The I saw the Butthole Surfers and learned what the coolest thing I had ever seen really looked like.

I went to see Stone Temple Pilots back in high school when they were touring with the Flaming Lips and the Buttholes. The Lips opened and blew my mind (first time I'd heard them). STP played, and I walked away (never listened to them again). The Buttholes came on around sunset, and, if I couldn't see my head in the mirror today, I could swear my head exploded.

Some probably do. I wouldn't be surprised if KC, Feldberg, Jenkins, Doss etc have a fee for smaller tournaments. It may be only something like $200. but it still keeps them in the black. add that to their "guaranteed" win of said C or B tier event (~$75 on the high side,) and whatever cash they can draw from selling discs out of their trunk (guessing ~$35-75.) It can end up being about a $500 weekend, not too shabby for our little hippy sport.

EDIT: ITT I realized I could listen to Mike Patton sing the phone book and be thoroughly entertained.

Discraft and Innova are now discs for noobs. No one with any level of skill throws them anymore. Anyone in the know knows that MVP and Lat64 make the best discs.
