Ooh. Someone has finally made stuff like those. I've been thinking of designing something like that but wasn't quite sure what technologies to use.
Even bluetooth should be good enough if you know the approximate location of the disc.

4.5mm, 5 grams. Not too bad. Not waterproof though, so gonna need extra protection for that. I'd see myself using this during the winter. Pretty expensive though. 50 bucks + postage for 2 after the kickstarter ends.

I "supported" with the $150 for 10 option. I'm splitting the order with a friend.

Probably won't use them at all for disc golf, but they should come in handy when the wife loses her keys... though ideally she'll stop losing her phone quite so often.

Strip some of the features unnecessary for disc golf and it'll be half the size and weight. Just rip off the light and the buzzer.

I sent an email and link to Innova. I hope someone partners with this company to implement in-bedded technology directly to the disk.

They won't do it formally until the PDGA revises the specs to allow that development. And we're working on it. Providing the recent waiver to allow taping the LEDs on for night golf was the first step.

I just returned from a round of "Wednesday Night Lights", our weekly glow doubles league. We received almost a foot of snow today but still had 11 people show up to throw. The led-lit discs illuminated the snow quite well unless they went too deep. It's awesome that something I had dreamed of 2 winters ago is now a reality and we're tossing discs around in the dark into a foot of snow. Technologies like these will only increase the opportunities for people to enjoy DG even more.

Oh, my partner and I tied for 1st at -10 with our card-mates but lost on the first playoff hole. He got really hot with the putter for a while and my tee game complemented it perfectly. We reeled off 8 birds in a row.

Anyway...can't wait to see this tech become streamlined for DG use...and get a bit cheaper

This month has been all snowing even more after a foot in a day and there's plenty more coming now. It looks like the third balls deep snow winter in a row here in the south of Finland. It's unfair because it seems that for most of Finland has less snow grr... Again.

What I meant was I dreamed that we'd be playing a glow league in the snow. Crazy, but it's Alaska in the winter so disc golfers gotta do what we gotta do. Winter's too long to stop playing
