I didn't play much this past year or follow the scene too much either. Looking at everything that came out, it looks like the majority are speed 13/14 drivers that I have heard nothing about. Is there anything worth trying that would make me want to put my destroyers on the bench? Thanks.

Just make sure to pound them hard because they like a lot of power and the nose has to stay down.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

So the cannon is the one? Any certain color or anything I should be looking for and is the rampage beefy enough to compliment it?

And what is the difference between pinnacle and icon? The descriptions sound very similar.

Pennacle is like old pearly champ, icon is like good star.
Rampages aren't that beefy.

I have never thrown one, but Vibram's Lace is listed as the longest disc on the inbounds flight chart. Also, one of the straightest in the top 20.

David Wiggins Jr. threw a blizzard boss straight up in the air in the desert that set a new world record at 836'.
Half the top pros in the world went to a new company, Prodigy. They've only got two discs but the D4 is worth a look as a better Nuke/Katana. They also have a stable D1 that's all over the place in terms of stability versus destroyers as they figure out what we want and what they're doing.

Get a Nuke in esp. It won 2012 worlds distance. Blizzard boss was second. Always go with the pros.

Yeah but now Jeremy Koling is on team prodigy. Prodigy has 7 of the current top 15 Pros (also Nikko @ #17) and 3 of the 4 top ranked women. I'm going to go out on a huge limb here and guess these guys could make any disc go far.

Yeah if that's where the pros go then that's where I would go. Reality is whether we like it or not is they are competitors and if there is a better disc out there they will throw it. So add prodigy to the list too. But as far as Max d... I wouldn't venture to far off the beaten path... those guys know what they are doing...
