The Standard 2013

Postby Steve » Sun Feb 17, 2013 11:07 pm

Trying to lock down a bag for my spring tournaments. I'm going to try and get by on just these ten discs and not change it around for at least a month. I can throw my solfs about 400' and my mids get out to 320' pretty easily.

2x 170 Soft Wizards - Putters
170 Eclipse Ion - Understable Putter
170 ESP Zone - Overstable Putter/Mid
174 CE QMS - Understable Mid
177 FT KC Glow Roc - Stable Mid
159 FT 12x Firebird - Overstable Driver
164 1.1 SOLF - Understable Driver
166 1.1 SOLF - Stable Driver
170 S Scorpius - Overstable Driver

These discs all ride in an Innova Standard bag that has been Plasti-dipped and equipped with Quadshocks. I really like how light it carries and how it leaves me feeling less drained at the end of long golf days.

Looks solid. Do you find a gap between your SOLFs and Rocs, or do they power up/down well enough that you don't miss a fairway driver? I am surprised that you list Ion as your understable putter; I found them stable but workable. But yeah - less stable than a Zone. Do you throw FH as well as BH?

I like a smaller bag, too, although I do use a larger bag for some tournaments if I am worried about losing a key disc or if I need to carry extra clothing, towels, or food.

The Ion is well beat in and flies like a gateway magic.

I have tried carrying fairways but they seem to overlap the orions and makes decisions on what to throw harder. If I throw a fairway it tends to be a qjls.

I throw mostly bh but can wrap a firebird around a corner fh when needed.

I had to make a couple changes lately due to snow cover. I took the scorpious out and put a qolf in. I also subbed in a dx shark for the ce qms till it warms up, no use breaking or losing a $30 disc.

I bought a Scorpius recently. Had no idea what I was buying. Read up on it and thought it would be perfect for my overstable slot. I must have unluckily picked one of the most understable of the lot. Love it, but not for that slot.

Thanks. My store just has the Q. Fits in between my *DS and my Blizz Destroyer that is becoming increasingly understable by the week.

I'm getting out the cart for an upcoming tournament that has potential for lost discs in some water. I'm going to be carrying a bunch of spares as well as my normal line up. I also hit an ace with my 170 scorpius and will try and find a new one to work into the bag soon.

Dropped the molf after a couple solid hits changed its stability. Added a glow pd in its place. Also took the beat champ shark out and stuck in a beat dx shark. Toying with the idea of adding a zombee in between the sharks and pds.

172 Yeti Pro- Putter
171 BB Omega SS - Sit and stick approaches
170 beat Eclipse Ion - Understable approach shots
174 new ESP Zone - Overstable, Utility approaches

175 CE QMS - Understable midrange
177 DX Shark - Multi-purpose Approach
180 Champ Shark - Slightly Overstable Approach
175 Glow Buzzz - Fairway Driver

166 beat SOLF - Flippy
167 SOS - Control Drives
175 Glow PD - Overstable Control
159 FT 12x Firebird - Overstable Utility/Flick Driver

165 Tern - Straight Distance Driver
170 S Scorpius - Overstable Driver

I am seeing some new distance gains with the Tern. I would describe it as having the control of the speed 9 drivers with the distance of a speed 12.
