I have found the new QMS (with the new stamp) to be a bit more overstable than the CE's or gummy ones. I prefer the gummy ones as they have a nice soft feel, but they are usually a bit understable. The CE's are usually dead straight with a touch of fade.

ZJ, is that your consensus as well??

Yes more stable. More like a Buzzz

Find a flat one. The domey ones feel a bit weird mainly because the plastic is very stiff.

Mine is definitely not gummy... dead straight with little to no fade, even with a 30 foot stall. The guy that I bought it from said it was rare but didnt say it was CE. Guess the important thing is that it is a really good disc and I need to find a backup. Would an MD2 be comparable?

Pictures help

MD2 is different. Not as straight, likes to flip and push out with power rather than fly flat

I will get a couple more angles. The Tangent is probably the closest thing that I have but it has more fade. Maybe that will die down with more use

String, what weight do you throw? I can't quite make out the lettering but does yours say PDGA "Approved" or "Appoved"? Looks like "Approved" to me. Is that one a bit stiff as well?

PM me and I'll check my stock.

Thanks Steady. It is "PDGA Approved" and on the stiff side. I am not sure on the weight. I usually do well with mids in the 175-180 range but the QMS may be lighter. I will weigh it and let you know.

I have an xout that looks just like that, same orange. It weights 168 on my scale real straight flyer. the super stingray is similar.

I haven't thrown the super stingray but I had a star stingray that I tried very hard to beat into a understable compliment for my QMSs after losing my beat silly QMS. I found the star stingray's rim to be noticeably shallower than the QMS and eventually after a hundred point blank full power tree hits and multiple tuning sessions the star stingray was finally stable as my seasoned QMS, slightly longer, but took a slight s-curve flight (perhaps due to my abuse) path instead of the QMS dead straight flight. I then traded for beaten in AMSs but decided it was easier to go Tursas/Meteor for harder right turnovers. The beat to turnover without fade AMSs line is very useful in the woods for go and stay right without the need for much anhyzer and may find its way back in the bag for uphill turnovers, go rights without fade, and flick annys that don't fight out.

Stringbean, I have an orange 8/10 heavy (max IIRC) "Appoved" with my small ink on the inside rim that I could let go for $20 shipped or perhaps trade for a heavy new(ish) Tangent. It started off a touch more overstable than the CE QMSs I throw and would hold a slight hyzer but once it fully breaks in will make for a great full power stable straight flier. PM me if interested.

Thanks for the offers, Steady hooked me up with a couple of replacements.

I have a Super Stingray in my bag along with my QMS. The QMS finishes straighter than the Super Stingray. There is literally no fade which makes it great for tight gaps and true annys. The Super Stingray (max weight) is my longest flying mid and it maintains a straight flight for as long as I can throw with a bit of fade at the end.
