Dirtys Bag

Postby Thatdirtykid » Sat Aug 18, 2012 2:22 pm

Between the kid (soon to be kids) and having recently bought a restaurant (65+ hours a week). I haven't been playing much. The bag I have been carrying is slim. And just got slimmer. I just lost my main putter, a beat medium ion that was my perfect left to right finishing putter driver/mid. As well as my only X Comet.

That leaves me with:

Soft Ion (main putter filling in for the lost one)
Med Ion (stable drives)
Pro Rhyno (putter drives with fade and a ton of forehand)
Z Comet
Esp Cyclone Beat
Esp Cyclone New
Z Pred Beat (worn in to overlap cyclones a bit)
Z Pred New (good old one from the stack)
Z Nuke
Z Force

I wouldn't even bother with the force or nuke if I didn't like showing off.

The thing is, I dont want to buy discs (maybe barter some) and I have always hated putting with ions (although they are great for outside the circle) and I don't have any wizards/warlocks/magic/challengers left. Oh well, I am not trying to get back to competing seriously, just out for casual rounds/leagues.
Any new putters out there that I need?

No learn to love the Ion because it is a great laser putter. Pitch i avoid as much as possible so YMMV. Some praise the Mercy but i haven't thrown it so what do i know? It feels very stiff. Have you tried an Opto Pure? It is the softest tackiest Opto i've felt and second best grip of primo plastic i've felt after the Prodiscus. Unless you have access to the tackier CE plastics.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

I have thrown the ion for a few seasons now, and do love it, even for putting. My putting consistency just goes to crap with the frequency I play and I love to blame the ion. I did play a round with a friends discs and putted lights out with a warlock recently. I am sure it was more because the new disc made me focus more. Still lost my go to ion, and would make for a good time to try something new.

Been playing more this summer (one whole round a week!) And my bag is in worse shape (by dgr standards too many molds)
I am itching to add one more mold too. I want to add a solf back to the bag, or an s-pd. To fill the cyclone nuke gap the preds dont fill like i remember.. Just don't have any olfs left

Voodoo- inside the circle confidence.
Soft ion- jumpers
Med ion- found the lost one, beat do it all driver
Med ion- new extra stable driver

Z comet (still need a lighter one or another x)
Sparkle aftershock

Esp cyclone broken in
Esp cyclone newish

Beat z pred. Now 8 years use this thing is a broken in s-pd.
New z pred

Z nuke
Z force both for when the hole is in range, but with nothing else. 1 hole per local course, I like pretending they are birdieable.

Zephyr - just cause nothing flies like a giant disc

Unless you can throw your Z Comet on an anny/hyzer-flip well I'd say to get an understable Mid. Since you seem to like the Comet just get an X Comet & beat it in or maybe even try to get your hands on one of the ESP Comets.

Nice avatar. You are definately right that there seems to be a missing spot there.
I can flip my z comets from hyzer, but am tracking down some less stable esps. Most comet range shots are reachable with an ion as well, or a forehand.
When I was playing more competitively I carried 5 d pro d wasps, the flippiest was flippier than any comet I have thrown. 50% hyzerflip that hyzers up the fairway, flattens and finishes right much like a forehand flex shot would.
