Latitude Bolt

Postby mgilbert » Fri Oct 11, 2013 8:33 am

I've just discovered that I have better luck throwing 150g fairway drivers and distance drivers. I'm 52, so my arm speed may not be what it was years ago. I have a 148g Latitude Diamond, which is very understable, and I can throw it 260 to 280 feet, and it will flip for me. In a headwind, it is almost too understable. So, I ordered a 150g Saint. All I could get it to do was hyzer for 200 feet. I traded for a 150g Blizzard Champion Wraith, and can throw it straight for the same 260 to 280 feet on a calm day, or into a headwind. I really want a 150g Latitude driver I can throw, so someone on here recommended the Latitude Bolt. Some say it is stable, some say it is seriously understable. It is rated understable, and available at 150g, but at speed 13, I wonder if I can do anything with it. Any comments, advice, or suggestions would be appreciated.

Only thrown +170g Bolts and they were terrible. Worst discs from Latitude IMO. If a max wide rim doesn't bother you, try the Westside Air King (made by Latitude).

Air renegade may be a good one for you as well.

I really like my 170G Bolt GL. I do not think it is as understable as the rating so I am not sure it is what you are looking for. I throw it out past 350 and it does not flip or turn and burn on me. Have you tried a River? Also, you stated that you want latitude 64 but I might recommend you try a 150 Champ or Star Lite Valkyrie. It may be closer to what you are looking for.

Sounds like you need to stick with the Wraith if it's working. The Bolt is too fast and too understable when really given a good rip to be of any use for a slow arm. Speed 13 or not, if 280ft. is what you're seeking then you should stick with what actually hits that mark for you.

170g GL Bolt was one of my favorite drivers until I disc'd down from anything wider rimmed than 2.1cm. Mine was pretty domey and not too understable, 13,6,-2,3 was about right. I could even do long sweeping hyzer drives with it. It was extremely long, mainly due to the superior glide.
