The Judge

Postby UncleBrother2001 » Wed Mar 12, 2014 4:04 pm

I'm still waiting on my Judges to get here and wanted to know more about them before they got here.

All I know is they are very popular and have the same feel as a Innova Ryhno? Did I hear that right? I borrowed two of my buddies DX Rhynos(he has tons) and have been putting downstairs with them. They are a different feel for sure. If the Judges have this same feel it shouldn't be too hard to get use to.

For those who use a Judge what kind of uses to get out of them? Do you just putt with them,Drive with them or use them as you main putter for everything putter related? What Plastics do you prefer?

Thanks and I'm looking forward to the responses. :D

They don't fly like a ryhno that's for sure. They also don't have the thumb track that the ryhno has. The judge is much closer to an aviar if I was going to compare it to anything. It is a neutral to stable putter and is very straight off the tee.

I have always liked stiff putters but its whatever is comfortable in your hand. With the three soft, blend, and hard you have some pretty good options. Off the tee I would suggest the new fuzion plastic. It is a bid domier and can handle a little more power.

I putted with Judges for a good while. The putter they resemble most is the Wizard, but not as stable. The Aviar clone from DD is the Warden which I am using now. While I liked the Judge a lot as a putter, it was even better as an approach disc. Super straight and long for it's speed. I like it best in classic soft, but then again, I really like soft putters.

I agree, it is similar to a Wizard. The Aviar has more dome and the wing is more slanted on the bottom, with or without a bead. I use a classic hard for all putts, and short holes off the tee, including anyhyzers. Grip is good, even when wet. I also bag a Vibram VP for flicks / sharp left turns and a Summit for turnovers.

Thanks man.

Judges for sure looks like a lower profile putter like a Rhyno,Spike and XD's.

I think I will like this disc. :D

Just to get off topic for a bit,but way back in 05 or 06 I believe it was I played a bit with a guy who's last name was Mantle. He was a lefty and threw Beasts,Valkyries,Rocs and I believe beadless Aviars. He was a pretty cool guy and we had some good rounds together in some of the doubles tournaments. Haven't seen him a long time though.

I still can't make sense of: profile/shallow/deep etc as used on the forums.

Viewed horizontally, what's the problem re profile, shallowness, or depth? Oh, don't forget "tall" or "short" too.

Usually high profile/Deep is the same thing. It's pretty much describing KC Pro Aviars,Wizards,Challengers,Focus stuff like that

Low Profile/Shallow is your XD's,Spikes,Rhynos, Pig's and stuff like that

The you also have Lids. Birdies,Rattler, and stuff like that.

That's just from stuff I've gathered online,i've only thrown about 10% of what I just said. :P

PMantle has 102 putters, so the difference in profiles can get confusing.

I've recently gone back to Gateway putters...SS Voodoo for inside the circle, SS Magic for long putts. SS Voodoo also for shorter approach.
