Regional forums?

Postby Donkeypuncher » Thu May 17, 2007 3:10 pm

I just thought it might be a good idea to get some regional forums so local players can get together and have one place to chat. I know states like texas and cali would need their own specific one, but the northeastern states are close enough that you can lump them into one forum. I know some guys don't have a specific local message board for there area and it could help them out a lot.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but it works very well on my car club forums and we have local meets every so often with local members.

funny I was just wondering if anyone from else from Houston post? I agree it would be great to have these discussions face to face at the course or field.

Is there any chance of this happening? I know it takes time and manpower to implement features like this, but just knowing it is in the works would make me feel better. It just sucks that there is no local club or message board for me to find other golfers in my area. Most of the guys I meet on the course don't want to play with people they don't know, and look at me like I'm a strangler when I ask. I guess people just aren't very friendly around here.

That sucks man, at my local course in louisiana I can always pick up a game with one of the fellow club members that are out there. Granted we are a small/hardcore group of about 50, so we pretty much all know each other.

I have been up in TN for the summer and havent been able to pick up a round with anybody. Most people just kinda shrug you off and dont wanna be bothered when you say hello to them or whatever. Im going crazy with lack of competition!!

It really helps to be apart of a club to get to know people on the course. I'm surprised that a large city like Dallas doesn't have an organized group of players.

Do you carry a rope or something? If so, try leaving it at home.
