turnover shots

2 questions.

1. What are the best discs for turnover shots?

2. For right haned players, what is the best way to throw discs and have them turn to the right instead of the left?

the best discs are generally discs that are understable.

discs that are high speed understable will be easier to turn.
discs that aren't very low speed overstable will be better suited for holding the turn rather than fading out.

the discs that generally fit these characteristics are discs that are very broken in (beat up), e.g. that piece of crap you found in the woods that was all chewed up will likely be great for this type of shot.

as for the technique to make a disc turn, throwing a disc with anhyzer will always make it turn at the start of the throw. most discs that are very understable are best suited for being thrown flat or hyzer with a lot of speed.

I'm a forehand player so I don't throw the shot myself but I know some locals who are pretty good at it.

Seen some beauties thrown with a Comet and one local uses a light weight Champ Sidewinder with amazing results. Most common disc seems to be a well beat-in Roc.

depending on your distance...

>200 feet = stingray
>250 feet = leopard
>300 feet = sidewinder/roadrunner

There are plenty of other discs but these are pretty readily available in most places, i would probably look into dx first, they will beat up faster and you'll have more success with those, if you don't want to wait for them to beat up you can find them in lighter weights.

I've found Eagle-Xs quite nice for backhand or forehand shots of any kind, including turnover/flex shots

Also, don't confuse anhyzer with turnover.
The best discs for the turnover shot are the types that Blake and Mickas described.
The best discs for anhyzer IMO are much more evenly stable, like a DX Teebird, DX Eagle X, or ZXL.
