Training program

Postby Blake_T » Tue Jan 10, 2006 9:59 pm

I was thinking about starting an internet training program for this upcoming season where i would post weekly/bi-weekly "lessons" and have people give them a try and post feedback/questions here on the forum and i could respond.

would people be interested in this at all?

Yeah id be up for it, 2 months ago I got an M14, and this last weekend I managed to pick up 11 putters at a tourney.
So putting training is about to be the majority of my time.

uhhh... yeah!

i've been playing 2 years, am totally addicted, and feel i should be way better at the art of throwing than i am for how much i've played. i'm very into practicing... i really want to use my time wisely when i'm out there so i can get as good as possible. i think many others that bother to read/post on message boards and frequently visit this site in particular would be totally into this.

I would be very greatfull for having a resource such as this. My only concern would be that I may not be able to post feedback by the time the next "lesson" was posted. Overall, sounds like a great idea.....I don't believe you will have ANY problem with lack of participation.
Practice, practice, practice. Especially with players that are better than you. It's one of the only ways to learn new things.

I would be totally into this. I see all the tips on how to throw and stuff, but sometimes you end up trying to work on everything at once instead of isolating some crucial elements. Or you might just take a tip here and there but you forgot about something else that works in conjunction with it. So you don't see an improvement, and you move on to something else. The building distance article was especially helpful about laying things out in steps.

You could have a crew of pretty average/below average hacks like me follow the instructions and post on our progress. Maybe measure distance on day 1, and then at day X or something, talk about how it feels, etc. That way other people can see how the training pays off and it will encourage them to work on their own games in a structured way.
